'Andor' Teaser Trailer: Diego Luna Prepares to Lead a Rebellion

The series acts as a prequel to the events of the 2016 movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (which has a 65 Metascore, by the way). This means the action takes place as the Rebellion forms. It follows Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, a rebel spy, who can be seen in the trailer trying to keep himself off Stormtroopers' radar while sparking interest in rising up against Empire leaders, who he calls "so proud of themselves" and "so fat and satisfied."

Cassian's journey in the show will to learn what difference he can make in this world in a time that is filled with danger and deception. While fans of the franchise know his path is going to turn him into a rebel hero, the details of how and when will be explored here.

Additional cast members include Genevieve O'Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller. 

The show comes from creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy and executive producers Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, and Michelle Rejwan. It will stream on Aug. 31 with the first two episodes dropping at once.

Andor follows in the footsteps of previous Disney+ series in the Star Wars universe: The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Mandalorian has a 71 Metascore; The Book of Boba Fett has a 59; and Obi-Wan Kenobi has not yet received a score (the show drops May 27 and was not sent early for review).
