That fusion of the simple and the vibrant is what makes the show worth tuning in for. Final Space is working from a template, but it’s adding colors that make these journeys well worth taking.
This dysfunctional family comes together in exciting ways that lead to a lot of conflict, and they’re tested in ever more traumatizing ways, with heart-breaking results. It’s these characters that make the show worth watching.
Final Space: Season 1 is a thrilling and hilarious sci-fi animated series that is sure to captivate audiences from start to finish. With its clever writing, lovable characters, and stunning animation, this show is a must-watch for any fan of the genre.
The series follows the adventures of astronaut Gary, voiced by the talented Olan Rogers, who befriends a cute alien named Mooncake, also voiced by Rogers. As they journey through space together, they encounter a host of colorful characters and dangerous situations that keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
One of the standout elements of the show is the voice acting, which is top-notch across the board. Rogers brings a unique charm and wit to his character, while David Tennant is a standout as the menacing Lord Commander. The rest of the cast is equally impressive, bringing their characters to life with humor and heart.
Another strength of the series is its visual style, which is both vibrant and stunning. The animation is fluid and engaging, with plenty of eye-catching action sequences that are sure to delight viewers.
Overall, Final Space: Season 1 is an absolute gem of a series that should not be missed. Its blend of humor, heart, and sci-fi thrills make it a standout addition to the genre, and its impressive 10/10 rating on Metacritic is well-deserved. FINAL SPACE já conquistou o mérito de ser a única animação que me fez temer pela vida de um desenho animado. É uma delícia de assistir pois oferece uma mistura de angústia, tensão e diversão na dose certa, chegando a incomodar em alguns momentos.
As a satire on science-fiction and the world we ordinarily live in, it is not as clever as "Futurama" or "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" or "Galaxy Quest," series with which it shares certain features. The comedy leans toward things adolescent boys find funny. ... But it clips along and looks good.
Final Space needs to find a smarter path to its humor (and force its main character to grow up), but the Futurama-meets-Steven Universe premise holds promise, and with some adjustments, this series could potentially launch into hyper-speed.
Something got lost in the translation. Final Space isn't as remotely entertaining as, say, Futurama, nor any of the Fox animated series nor the non-animated Third Rock From the Sun for that matter--and especially not TBS' other, non-animated slice of brilliance, People of Earth, that O'Brien also executive produces. It's hard to ask people in the Peak TV era to stick with an animated comedy that's not exactly working on any level.
This show is amazing. Great story, loveble characters, its funny, sad, emotional, you have everything you need in it. Great epic space oddysey. I can't wait for second season.
-Animation(8/10):Clean and Vibrant,boring design
-Plot(6/10):
-Characters(6/10):developed parallel to the **** prior emotional bias to relate to Characters.
As a Kuntess i was expecting a Rick and Morty with a bigger budget. What draws me to Space theme
is vastness that brings our nihilism out while giving contrast to human creation(movie "gravity''),a meditation on a endless dark desert.Final Space opening ,with a omniscient camera, shows the characters fighting in the edge of and "N" zooming out until "pale blue dot" (misleading).maybe to put in perspective how important relationships are and little our struggle(or im **** the show progresses i could feel a light and fresh femininity on its writing without the angst of programmer tanned with pimples and screenlight but stalls on Dragons ball z directed by a overprotective mother(repetitive without well choreographed badass fights). Final space has The Simpsons naivety and silliness without relatable situations and Family Guy violence without dark self deprecating humor. References like Hans zimmer(Interstellar),arcade fire(Her),Startrek, starwars, doctor Who,delayed gratification(Ted Talks) are put into a blender to form
a Zeitgeist smoothie too smooth to be felt(like a baby eating marshmallows in a velvet room),not self aware,NOT META (how dare you) ,gratuitous references.Final space is for normal healthy people without existential problems and just like its fans(10 year olds)its boring with great potential.
Juvenile and bland attempts at comedy, incredibly generic sci fi fluff, and boring animation would be the most serious detriments to this show if the complete lack of focus wasn't already derailing this unfocused semi-parody, semi-serious bland show.
Olan Rogers is a reasonably talented voice actor, it's a shame that this talent does not extend to writing because this show has some of the worst I've ever had to suffer through.
Final Space's gags regularly fall flat, and the ones that do elicit a chuckle are played out until the charm evaporates and you begin to hate what you once appreciated. The attempts at heart-string tugging character drama are a wasted effort as that would require the viewer to identify with some of the cast - a problem for a show consistent only in its failure to make any of the protagonists likeable.
This is typified by Kevin, a robot with the singular and defining trait of "being annoying". This might have had more impact, but sadly for Kevin, all the other characters are annoying in more aggravating ways.
Final Space is an unoriginal and poorly implemented yawn-fest. it gets 3 stars for quality animation and the fact I can now ask people "Did you like Final Space?" and use it as a gauge of mental stability, because anyone who expresses anything more positive than apathy for this show is not to be trusted.
Simply not funny. I found myself laughing a total of zero times while watching this. Zero. None. Boring story I can't get myself to care for at all, and it progresses through the season, unlike most shows of the type, and... while that could be cool... it just leaves me with an even greater sense of "meh". Characters are meh. Plot is meh. Humor is horrendously bad. It's... no, just watch and see - but preferably, you know... don't. Rick & Morty, Futurama, The Simpsons etc etc etc are all animated shows that are funny. This can not be listed with them. I can't quite put my finger on it, but this show just really did not do it for me. I watched it all... then sat back.... and... meh.
