South of Hell is an easily digestible piece of horror froth that's totally enjoyable, if entirely facile.
Too often, the premiere is plodding where it could be exciting, silly where it could be scary, and prurient where it could be perverse.
As it stands, South of Hell should elicit more derisive hoots of laughter than shrieks of terror.
It isn't scary. It looks comically cheap at times. The performances range from inconsistent to fairly awful.
