Moss’ stalwart turn is more than enough to keep viewers’ rooted in June’s struggle. The set design, costumes, lighting, and more formal elements also burst with life, guiding the eye wherever it needs to be and providing a more active experience than the scripts would by themselves. Basically there’s still enough going on in The Handmaid’s Tale to keep it reasonably compelling, even though it’s harder to ignore the sound of the ticking clock that strongly suggests this narrative needs to turn harder in some new directions, and soon. Read full review

Maybe the second half of the season will turn things around. Unfortunately, six hours is a long time to slog through a story that just seems to get more and more depressing. June glaring into the camera with apparent promises of revolt, backed by a revolutionary-themed rock song (which happens more than once), doesn’t count as actual plot progression. Read full review

The season is messy but the end is amazing. It is all so real. I am looking forward for the season 4 and believe it should be the last one.

"Night" is an uplifting (as far as it can get on this show), emotionally draining, visually stunning season opener that is, honestly, a breath of fresh air. Season 2 received its fair share of criticism, mostly for its lack of hope and overabundance of torture, but thankfully the season 3"Night" is an uplifting (as far as it can get on this show), emotionally draining, visually stunning season opener that is, honestly, a breath of fresh air. Season 2 received its fair share of criticism, mostly for its lack of hope and overabundance of torture, but thankfully the season 3 premiere is the dawn of change. Both Elisabeth Moss and Yvonne Strahovski soar, proving once again that they're some of the best actors in the industry. And Alexis Bledel will make your heart skip a beat - she's just as good as she's always been. The cinematography & score are unsurprisingly exceptional and completely elevate this episode. Please watch this season if you didn't like S2. Praised be!… Expand

Yes, the pace is slow but the show is so thoughtful, relevant and well-acted. Not to mention the superb cinematography. Each scene is like a painting. Still one of the best show out there!

A major disappointment. It tries way too hard to be either a Sci-fi or a thriller. Seasons 1 and 2 were, great, but this one is a letdown. How did they fit so many plot holes? It's a mess. I hope Season 4 will fix these issues in 2021.

Here, an annoying point has already been reached because of the lack of depth and how incredibly dumb June's character has become. Felt incomplete overall and silly half the time. I would have scrapped the storyline and made it about getting Hannah. Had to push myself to keep watching. Wbig step down from season 1 and 2
