Granted, "Treadstone" (the name comes from the secret operation that turned Bourne into a weapon) proceeds a little too slowly in terms of connecting the dots, but the show doesn't scrimp on action, and those who enjoyed the movies should find tantalizing threads in this expansion of the narrative.
Treadstone is the far more simplistic and far less cool cousin, in both its direction and its dialogue, a show in need of an added oomph to turn it into something really special. But as it stands, as a show we really didn’t need in the first place, it’s a pacy and entertaining journey that does more than it could have done with the loose pitch of finding a way to force Bourne back on to the small screen.
I just binge watched the entire first season on amazon and i think this show was great. great action, characters and suspense. it's a good spy show based on the 'bourne' movies. was very happy i found and watched.
A hodgepodge of disparate stories, none compelling or with much mystery. The acting is mostly mediocre except when it's truly awful. The hand-to-hand combat scenes are nicely choreographed and edited, but not enough to save this turkey.
BTW I hate guns that don't kick
It’s a visually stimulating series that looks to have filmed in many locations around the world, leaving viewers with curiosities aroused just enough to keep tuning in for more if only for the fights.
Right now, “Treadstone” is a diverting series about an organization so diffuse that it’s easier understood as background noise between action. In the episodes and, perhaps, seasons to come, I’m hoping the show gives us more by paring back.
The globetrotting and time-jumping to different “Bournes” makes for a show that’s hard to follow and gives us too little reason to make the effort. ... Even the fight scenes, a hallmark of the Bourne movies, are poorly done. ... Whoever thought turning a show built around a someone like Jason Bourne into an ensemble of forgettable quasi-Bournes was a good idea should be put in a government program themselves.
The missing ingredient, however, is the writing. Treadstone is all action and no brains. ... While lots of action films require the audience to suspend disbelief at times, Treadstone requires them to saw the tops of their own heads off and remove the gooey blob inside. It's the only way you'll survive the writing. Even the actors sometimes look stunned.
Rubbish script, crappy acting, unbelievable characters (scrawny women beating up multiple hulking men at a time - pc woke crap).....a complete embarrassment to the Bourne legacy. Please please don't do a season 2.
Had high hopes since I love Berlin Station and Jason Bourne.
In a nut shell it’s POOR script and writing, trying too hard to make it convoluted and mysterious. It just doesn’t work.
1. Too much back and forth in time = very confusing, one min you are at present time and next min you are not. 2. Too slow to connect the dots
3. Poor character development= one min we have one character, as soon and you get involved with them another character is in the show. Too many, too confusing, and you care for none of them!
4. Too many not believable poor scenes=
A. the reporter/now cab driver happens to drive like James Bond and miraciulsy knows the map of Paris and escapes North Korean agents!!!!
B. Same reporter tell a women that her father was killed and the delivery is sooooo poor and nonchalant as if she is saying “your father is waiting for you”!!!! Really? That’s the directors fault. Just ruined it for me
C. Poor casting for Russian Red headed KGB agent, the younger version has a round face and button nose, the older her has a long hooded bumpy nose and completed hollowed out face. Just not believable, POOR CASTINg.
D. The Korean sleeper agent some how travels between North and South Korea by JUMPING? We have no idea how she can easily travel between China, North South Korea
F. Korean Officer who has never met the cabdriver/journalist lady but meets up with her and tells her “ agents are being woken up” ,..... “You must find the missile codes”!!!!! Yeah....a reporter should get that responsibility and hey would you trust her again with this info? Just not believable
