What kind of fool DOESN'T like this game? It is, quite simply, a masterpiece. It shone a LOT more brightly than the 16 bit games around at the time, and honestly, every 16 bit Sonic game WAS the best. Such a shame that the franchise went down hill after Sonic Adventure, so nobody remembers legends like these anymore. Long live this fantastic game.

Despite Sonic 1 being a classic, having striking music, charming visuals, unforgettable stages and many other factors that validate it as a classic, Sonic 1 has aged the worst among the Sega Genesis titles. There are few stages where we can really feel Sonic's speed, as only Green Hill and Starlight focus on speed, the other stages focus much more on precise jumps and platform sections, the desperate special stage which is very cruel to the player, the the absence of the spin dash and the seventh emerald to become super sonic, are just some of the reasons that made this game age worse than its successors, which is good on the one hand, since its sequels improved significantly, but bad on the other that The game is not the same one we remember playing for years in Genesis

A great Game for the time it had debut, and Still a good game. The graphics are good, the art direction of the levels are beautiful, the songs are also super good and timeless , it was my first game ever, of course it has some flaws, like: the special Stage is bad and weird, the only truly good levels are Green Hill and Star Light the other levels are just mid, they are not bad as people say( except from: Spring Yard,I Think Spring Yard and the final level they are bad) , the ending is cool but the canon ending( the one with the 6 chaos emeralds) it'snot worthy! It's just other animation that least 5 secs. Aside those things the game is good and is a classic that have created a Giant franchise. And by the way this game is endeed good,Sonic 1 won the " game of the year from 1991, and it's one of the best selling games of Sonic , so if the game was bad, people wouldn't buy , and wouldn't have started a Series! It'sa good game and definitely is a Must Play. It'sone of these historical Games that everyone should play at least once in life.

Лучший ли это Соник? Конечно нет. Лучший ли это Соник на SegaMD? Тоже нет.Да, приятная картинка и неплохая музыка обращают на себя внимание игроков. Игра не сильно сложна и довольно быстро проходиться, не успевая надоесть. Но при прохождении бросается в глаза, что качество уровней чередуется. После скоростной и разнообразной Green Hill Zone, идёт скучная и тягучая Marble Zone, и так зоны чередуются по качеству на протяжении всей короткой игры.Это типичная первая часть франшизы со всеми детскими болячками.
