Anyone who wants to experience the tabletop wargaming experience without purchasing all those little minuatures should take a serious look at this game. It offers so much detail for the retail price.
Sure, it has a few blemishes, like an air control system that's a pain in the backside to manage and the usual pathfinding suspects, but the overall experience of deploying hundreds of different units, then winning or losing on the merits of tactical cleverness alone, is sure to put a smile on even the most jaded turn-based aficionado's grumpy mug.
although this is an old game, and the player base is tiny, I it is a very good game. decent single player too. I still love this game. only drawback is relatively poor pathing, no player vs AI customs, and rarely has more than 15-20 people in the multi player (including running games). that said, usually have no problems finding a 3v3 match. really good strats involved too
Strategy players will come up to speed quickly and enjoy the vast array of units and unit abilities, while WWII fans who aren’t too interested in stat tracking will dig the game’s accessibility and--living up to its name--focus on constant action.
With a strict eye for historical detail and a phenomenal amount of content, this is sure to please anyone looking for a long and challenging experience.
It’s an affair for the patient, meticulous player who doesn’t mind playing a puzzle game in disguise as a WWII RTS. Blitzkrieg II is too unforgiving and downright frustrating to warrant my recommendation to any but the most intense history buffs.
Unfortunately, while the "big-picture" ideas manage to work, the game ends up being brought down by a number of annoying little details that make individual battles less fun than they might otherwise be.
This game is huge on detail and realism, the graphics are impressive but that's where it ends. there's nothing compelling about this game. WW2 games make me cringe yet this game is just bearable, I constantly wish it was more like Warcraft 3, (a bad statement I know) but sometimes you need fantasy mixed in with reality because this game is honestly just boring. Unit voices are good though and hotkey matching is great. Music is good also, campaign objectives can be quite varied but there's no presentation no drama no suspense, nothing, just a cold emotionless transcript telling you what you have to do. This game has no story plain and simple, it has no soul. I did however enjoy the strategy aspects of tank armor plating but infantry died too easily, too much realism in that regard, game units need to be balanced, this game had very little balance, tanks were the big cheese, things just seemed to be happening at random rather than by design. It feels more like a movie with just a few options on the player's part rather than an experience.
Im mostly writing this, because im shocked to see so many fake "10s" here. Dont trust these guys. Blitzkrieg 2 is the bastard brother of one of the best strategy games ever. This game is a disaster, dont buy it.
SummaryAn epic WWII RTS game where you strategically plan and command battles in multiple WWII theatres, choose reinforcements and use a wide range of new combat units through 3 global campaigns on the side of the Soviet Armed Forces, US Army or German Wehrmacht. Blitzkrieg II builds upon the success of the best selling Blitzkrieg and comes wit...
