Days of Doom is a fun mix between roguelite and tactical RPG that keeps you entertained largely due to its simplicity. Although the game manages to capture the feeling of wanting to play just one more run, its simplicity also ends up limiting the time you can enjoy it.
A solid strategy experience isn’t quite enough to elevate Days of Doom past its more varied competition on the indie market, but there’s just enough meat on the zombie bones.
Days of Doom has a promising premise yet its mix of genres doesn't accomplish anything exceptional beyond its unique cast of characters.
Days of Doom is a game that really needs more variety to shine. The pool of enemies is small and I found myself dealing with them in the same compositions. Rewards for runs is a slow trickle of currency that makes crucial upgrades feel so far off. Whilst the art provides a rare bright spot, it feels at odds with the serious premise. Ultimately, what's here runs out of momentum very quickly and can't really entice me back in for one more go.
