This adult visual novel focuses on the raw and realistic aspects of everyday life, and it does so with a fearless approach. While it's intended for a mature audience due to its explicit content and hard-hitting themes, this is precisely what makes this work so **** developers' courage in addressing complex issues and criminal situations in a straightforward manner is commendable. It's not a superficial game and is far from being suitable for everyone. Their warning about it not being suitable for people with depression or those seeking a light-hearted experience is fair, as the narrative can be intense. What sets this visual novel apart is its willingness to explore what is often overlooked in entertainment media. It opens a window to the less visible parts of life, challenging players to confront an intense and emotional narrative. If you're willing to delve into a challenging and thought-provoking world, this game offers a valuable experience that will make you reflect on deep aspects of life and society.
Cons:
* Main Character is a bit on the dorky side.
* Feels like there are too many strippers / sex workers in the game as LIs - I was pretty disappointed with Gabby's storyline leading into the strip club; thought she was super attractive but as soon as I found out she was going to be a sex worker, it's like...nope.
* This is a game where, as silly as it sounds given the genre, there's almost too much sex in the game so that the story feels pretty secondary at times - the MC is getting laid in like every other scene during certain stretches - in Chapter 5 there was a stretch where he could get laid in literally three scenes in a row. I think the game needs a bit slower pace in order to actually develop some relationshps and make things less about casual sex and more about developing your character and progressing the story. A game that will be hitting Steam in the next 6-12 months is called "Summer's Gone" which is more like that, and even "Chasing Sunsets" does this a lot better.
Pros:
* The animations are some of the best I've ever seen in a VN. The movements are so fluid it's like watching real people in a movie - this is an area other developers could learn from in this game, absolutely fantastic animation, kudos, Dev!
* Still renders are also top shelf. The women are absolutely beautiful.
* They let you backtrack on some of your choices - where you can say "maybe" you're interested in doing something, etc. but then later you can reconsider which is good - more realistic as a lot of VNs force you into decisions before you have much information on a given topic or person.
* Story is interesting so far - found it a little slow moving initially but by the end of Episode 5 it definitely has me curious, so I do plan on buying Episode 6 when it releases.
Game Length: 7-8 Hours
Final Rating: 7.5 / 10
The models are very nice and some of the girls are outright gorgeous, BUT the story is bland and mostly uninteresting and animations are few and far between although the quality of them is quite high. In the end the game drags and takes too long to finish (about 1 hour for each chapter) for what it offers.
It's not a bad game but I didn't find it as interesting as Being a DIK. I also don't think the choices really affect anything and the characters are all very chatty. Even during sex scenes they keep talking and it gets annoying after a point. The girls are beautiful, but like the story, the characters are not very interesting. I don't know what's going to happen when the second season is completed, but speaking for the first season, it's not very promising. The game is a bit overrated.
SummaryYou're a young man trying to find out what happened to your father. But in doing so, you ended up having an accident that erased some of your memories. Now, with a clean slate, you moved to another town to start college.
