It's more Harvest Moon, sure, but it's still top-notch fun, and the inclusion of clear goals this time around should convert some new fans to the series.
Fan of the Harvest Moon formula will find plenty of play value here, though veterans may be frustrated by the lack of control they have over the game's progression.
This is my all-time favorite Harvest Moon game! I have played it for 10 years (in the game) and still have more goals to achieve and more content to unlock. It's very user friendly and fun---love the concept of the 2 towns **** get the experience of living in a Japanese village and in a pretty country town. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is new to the Harvest Moon series or who has been a fan of other HM games.
A good game. I've heard the main complaint with this game is that it doesn't innovate on the previous DS Harvest Moons, and I haven't played those which might be why I like it. Tending to animals is addictive. Spouses are interesting, particularly Reina and Oracle. You can only get upgrades to your house/bed/farm etc or fix the tunnel one at a time once a month which arbitrarily lengthens the game a few in game years. You can buy new fancy carts, harvest bees, raise fish, etc.
All things considered, the game is cute and fun, with lots to do and see even if it feels like a slightly miniaturized, watered-down Harvest Moon experience. The story is interesting and the new setting of Konohana makes for a very unique feel to the familiar activities. While the 3D can be a little quirky at times, it has some of the prettiest art yet seen.
If you absolutely have to have a 3D Harvest Moon game, this will fill a gap. It's hardly the most expansive and engaging the series has offered in recent times, and its central concept is of the take-it-or-leave-it variety, but it still has the potential to enthral if you let it.
Not an encouraging start for the first Harvest Moon on the 3DS, with a game that struggles to justify not only its own existence but that of the franchise as a whole.
Buy digital version , the freezing glitches are fixed in the digital version. The awkward things happen in physical copy will not happen again ,but hm a new beginning is better for me . This game is small , don't worry of your space left in sd card....
After playing Animal parade I was turned into a fan so I was really excited for this game and didn't even read any reviews and just pick the game up straight away. However I was so disappointed. Compare to the previous edition, this one lacked content. There wasn't an interesting story line and main aim of the game was lame and overall, a lack of things to do. The only good side of this is the graphics. The mountain area looks very pretty.
Okay, this is a harvest moon game. If you are familiar to these games it's much of the same(which isn't a bad thing). The problem with this game is poor programming. If you choose to own more of a farm than a ranch, once you grow too many crops you LAG and the game FREEZES on the screen with said crops. This made me very annoyed, because that is what part of this game is, a farming simulator. Now the farming is gone. If you went with a more Ranch style, then you're met with random freezes crossing the mountain. Besides the dreadful programming errors, there is a lot of flaws with the game's design. The most annoying would be the weekly cooking festivals, they are most boring thing to watch, and it's a shame, because it's the goal of the game to attend this terrible festival so the two towns who are split between way to many loading screens to become friends. If you really want to play this game, get the DS version, as it does NOT have the bugs. I'd suggest just skipping this one completely though, try one of the many other, WORKING, Harvest Moon or Rune Factory titles.
Maybe it's just me but I just couldn't get into this game, although it seems right up my alley. The graphics do not take advantage of any of the 3DS' positives it is a straight port from the DS version of the game it seems. The constant long winded conversations with other characters that you can't skip doesn't help this game either. Just not engaging or inviting as a cute game world which other Harvest Moon games have been.
