Absolutely great digital TCG, and it very much follows a true TCG model with the ability to buy cards from other players. The single player is very fun and extremely challenging at times, and while multiplayer can feel unfair to free players, I can't blame it as you can't even play other similar TCG's like MTGO or physical MTG without paying a cent.
Are you someone that looks for challenges in games? Someone that loves complexity in games? Someone that doesn't mind high learning curves? Someone that likes to trade/barter ingame items that actually have real-world value? Someone that prefers playing slow-paced games over fast-paced games at leisure time? Someone that likes trading card games? Then this game is for you.
Path of Exile players, EVE Online players, Magic players, this is your kind of game.
This is a free-to-enter trading card game where all cards are tradeable and many have real-world value! This differentiates Hex from CCGs such as Hearthstone, Duelyst, Solforge where you may just shrug when you get a legendary you cannot use. Sell it to other players and buy cards you like from the currency! The game requires currency (because you can keep all cards that you use to play in PvP with the chance of super-rare cards that sell for thrice the money you used to enter the PvP game!), that can even be gained from successful trading of cards (you can earn currency as a "broker"!) or from paying real money. This is what makes PvP games so exciting! You will sweat, shed tears and shudder all over your body over each your PvP decisions in your first matches because you are playing over something that has real value! And then the game has two(!) weekly 1000$ cash tournaments that anybody can enter to bring some money home!
What makes this game truly complex is that the cards have complex mechanisms and millions of possible interactions. Cards can be socketed with gems that give them special powers! At the moment the game has more than 3000(!) different cards. Every four months, the developers release a new set containing an additional ~250-300 cards!
While the game still has a few bugs, the developer team is very dedicated to fix those and the support willingly reimburses you for any gamebreaking bugs you experience in PvP! So you don't have to worry about any losses as long as you report the bug to support!
The most exciting part of this game is that it is just a mere beginning. The developers are dedicated and repeatedly add more features.
Not convinced yet? Head to **** and watch people playing to grasp the concept of this game!
I have been playing since Alpha, this is simply the best digital trading card game out there. There is an auction, a player vs environment, a ranked ladder for the constructed and limited scene, weekly tournament with 1k$ cash prize. Bi-monthly ladder tournament with 5k$ cash prize. Open packs, and chest. Collect sleeves, battleboard and animated alternate art cards. Many more things are to come. If you like TCG this is just... the best.
"This moron is talking about the 'superior' version of HEX which is called HEX Shards of Fate. Has nothing to do with this version of HEX which is vastly inferior. Next, just go to their Kickstarter page, check out everything they haven't implemented on the MAIN version of the game. Now tell me, are you going to think this company is worthy to deliver playable content in a timely fashion when in 4 years they haven't even implemented half of what was promised? Dodge this atrocity"
Sorry princess if you didn't got what you wanted. Kickstarter is not a place where you buy complete games. Kickstarter is a place where you help finance the development of a project and the dev gives you something in exchange of your help. HEX successfully delivered a wonderful card game that has more features than MTG (champions and socketing). HEX never "promised" anything during kickstarter. All the missing features are things that they want in the game. Most of them are designed or being designed.
And I wasn't talking about the 'superior' version of HEX, since all features I mentioned is in the 'inferior' version of the game. I just removed the In-game mail system, cause I don't know if it's gonna be there, some people say YES other say NO, but all the rest is in the game. You can do Constructed, limited, compete in official tournament, in community tournament, sell cards and buy cards, with new sets every 4 months.
NO CAMPAIGN ? WHY? WHY? Very disappointed !!!I came back to rewrite this, having said that the game it's awesome and so much fun. If you like card games and miss magic the gathering than Don't think twice and get this game because it may be even better than magic the gathering. This game looks good but it's to buged and extremely complicated mechanism to new players but once you get into it it's amazing . i Don't see any campaign though ... And bugs need to be fixed but besides that it's a great game
If you want to have fun in a tcg and play free this is not the game the deckbuilding and stuff is fun but playing the highest level players ( cosmic) when ur bronze is no fun at all and its pretty much every game cuz they take advantage of a.poorly crafted system to ensure wins for exp. Theres also the cross platform issue where modes of play and ( more importantly) the rewards for those modes are unavailable on console. In short its a fun game about 5% of the time when u get a worthy yet not ridiculously outclassing opponent
This game is terrible on the bugs alone the game crashes all the time. They left out a lot of stuff for the ps4 version. Is pure pay to win. If you look up the top meta decks they consist almost entirely of rares. And you should look them up cause that is what you'll be playing against most the time.
So they blatantly removed my negative review. so here's another one, the guys here are from the superior pc hex version, some are lying about the features you acquire like chests, pve, campaign, singleplayer experiences. the auction house is worse on ps4 than on pc.
let's see if they remove all negative criticism on here again.
SummaryHex can do things a paper TCG can only dream of doing. We can socket gems in cards to give them additional powers, use card powers to transform them into different cards mid-match, and play with gamespace to produce never before seen designs.
