It's still not the prettiest game around, but it's not the ugliest either, and overall Ghosts 'n Goblins Gold Knights II is a huge improvement over the first thanks to the overhauled performance and controls.
Gold Knights II will appeal to fans of the old-school Ghosts'N Goblins games or retro-minded gamers. The controls are a bit futzy and detract from the overall enjoyment, which is too bad because otherwise, there's a lot to like in Gold Knights II.
It was enough of a throwback to remind me why I liked old school games, but forward-thinking enough to make up for those old games' shortcomings.
Though it marks a steady improvement over the first game, Ghosts'N Goblins: Gold Knights 2 hasn't taken the strides necessary to lift it above decent status.
Gold Knights 2 isn't a dramatic improvement over the first title from CAPCOM, but the improved controls are appreciated and make it worthwhile for fans of the original to dive back in.
A poor use of the Ghosts n' Goblins name. This game disappoints in too many areas.
You're not missing much if you choose to skip Ghosts'n Goblins Gold Knights 2.
