The bottom line is that Legend of Solgard is free and the mechanics and polish are all top-notch, and the game loop quite compelling, so there’s no reason not to give it a shot yourself and see which side of the fence you end up on.
Perhaps the highest compliment that could be paid to Legend of Solgard is that it’s not what you assume it might be just from hearing the genre in which you’d place it. It’s got something to offer all kinds of mobile gamers, from the very casual to the much more serious, and should expand the definition of a King title beyond what we’ve all known it to be for years now.
Legend of Solgard is a nice surprise, a turn-based strategy game with puzzle elements that brings something new to the table.
It's got a few niggles here and there, but this is a much deeper effort than anything we've seen from King before.
This Legend is definitely worth exploring, especially since it’s free to play, which seems like a must today in the overcrowded mobile marketplace.
Might & Magic: Clash Of Heroes is remade as a highly engaging free-to-play touchscreen gem.
