The effort put into the depth of control of this game is very apparent. Each of the four modes of racing controls in subtly different ways, and racing aficionados will definitely be able to tell the difference.
It feels more sophisticated, looks great, delivers tons of cars and racing disciplines, and upgrades what was already a solid online component. But far more critical, it's one of the best drives on the 360.
This was tragically misunderstood back in the day, even as a kid I never had the mind for it but this game was way ahead of its time, you will never get a game like this again and I yearn for another copy.
The slating of this game is evidently dishonest where "Critic Reviews" here blatantly write about the game being bad solely because they still think we're playing Underground 2. Need for Speed is a gaming series which evolves and grows, if you want to play Most Wanted or Carbon go play most wanted or Carbon, why display your emotionally-driven irrationality on the reviews?
Pro Street provides tons of race variations such as grip class, time attack, sector shootout, drift races, ¼ mile drag, ½ mile drag, wheelie competition, top speed runs, and speed challenges. The career mode does a nice job mixing up these race variations to help the game from growing stale too quickly.
Overall if you prefer your racers arcade style rather then simulations you might well get along much better with Need For Speed Pro Street, and once you forgive the odd behaviour of the car handling you can get along with the game fairly well.
It's tolerable enough and will certainly last you a long time, but it seems a shame that what used to be one of EA's better, more reserved racing games has become quite so loud, desperate and mediocre in an attempt to distinguish itself, and that what it does get right in this year's iteration is almost completely divorced from the track where so many of its contemporaries excel.
I have played many racing games before, and this one did not impress. That doesn't mean the game is bad though. The controls are a little slow, and the great feeling you get when you race along the road at high speeds isn't really there. I can't completely bash this game though, the cars are great and the environment is pretty interesting also. Overall this game deserves about a 6, in my opinion.
Need For Speed ProStreet is an interesting experiment that just doesn't quite work out in the end.
ProStreet's biggest problem is it's **** dips constantly and is very jarring, taking away from a good looking game.
The best part of the game is,of course, the car customisation, which is **** can make your cars look so different from their stock state.Cars can be upgraded and tuned to your heart's **** livery editor can be clunky **** car list is also well varied, with tons of choice.
The handling is OK,playing very much like a simcade, but nowhere near the quality of rivals like Race Driver **** cars do feel decent, apart from the speed cars that are impossible to control
The engine noises are very tinny, but the soundtrack is sensational.
Overall,Need For Speed ProStreet is a good idea done poorly, the game is still OK,and won't disappoint for car tuning fanatics, but for everyone else,it just lacks the quality handling and framerate, which is a shame.
Je me sens soulagé.
