Despite never particularly excelling, Bear With Me is a perfectly satisfying little adventure game. Point and click fans who’ve been starved off quality titles of late will be well entertained for the brief period it lasts, and future episodes will hopefully be a bit more expansive as the action relocates from Amber’s house to the streets of Paper City.
Bear With Me is a nice and quite promising adventure, but Episode 1 should be at least twice as long in order to justify its existence as a episodic adventure and not a demo. Although the asking price is relative low, the coming episodes must include much more content.
Bear With Me is a charming, imaginatively realized point-and-click noir adventure with a good balance of zany humour and chin-stroking intrigue. Those with a hankering for the good old days of the genre will find a lot to love here.
Bear With Me - Episode One is the brief prelude to a new series of noir episodic adventure. It seems definitely to have a few tricks up its sleeve, at least in narrative terms.
Bear With Me Episode One is short to a fault, lacking the length it needs to make it feel more than just a demo for a game that has yet to be released. Yet its charming atmosphere and characters make me want to find out exactly what is happening in Paper City. For now, wait and see where the future adventures of Amber and Ted take them before trying out this black and white world.
The first episode of Bear With Me still hints at a greater game to come, nicely setting a proper noir tone with some occasional creepy bits and a gleeful dose of snark throughout. But it sadly says a lot that the initial outing feels more like a demo for the game than an actual full-fledged chapter of the story.
SummaryBear With Me is an episodic noir adventure game. Amber is trying to find her missing brother while being aided by her trusty teddy, Ted E. Bear.
