As far as VR turret shooters go, Gunjack sets the benchmark fairly high. Its lack of a concrete story may be a turn-off for some — it does have its roots in the mobile space — but that feeling of gunning down ships from the comfort of your cockpit is as exhilarating as it is immersive. At the risk of sounding pejorative, CCP’s spinoff can in many ways be likened to VR junk food — short, sweet, and fulfilling in the moment. Just don’t expect a VR experience for the ages.
Nice game that shows what the PlayStation VR is great for.
It is an arcade shoot em up game and works perfect with the normal dual shock controller.
It does NOT give any motion sickness and is a fun game to play.
You are sitting in front of a large Battleship in space and protecting the battleship from enemies.
It is like you are the gunner at the Millennium Falcon in Star wars, but the battleship is moving slowly over the planet below instead of flying around
GunJack is really worth it for its price. At the beginning the game is a bit dull, but as the difficulty increases it becomes really interesting and addictive. I give it an 8 because the sky-boxes, they're at a very low resolution and some details had to be real instead of an image, it breaks a bit the immersion.
This gallery space shooter shares the loosest of connections with the EVE mythos, and it lacks the frantic spectacle and VR dogfighting drama of Valkyrie. [January 2016, p80]
With its roots firmly planted in the mobile space, EVE: Gunjack is proof that virtual reality often works best when the experience is built around short pick-up and play sessions. [Issue#180, p.48]
While the turret controls are very polished and the power-ups are a lot of fun to use, the gameplay itself can become tedious after awhile in the rather short EVE: Gunjack.
Fun little game. Feels like VR Space Invaders. Just the right amount of challenge. Gets repetitive though and doesn't change much from one level to the next.
One of the first psvr shooting galleries, so I'll give it a 5 because the genre hadn't yet been beaten to death. But still, even in the beginning, it was only mildly entertaining for a short while.
SummaryGunjack is an action-packed arcade shooter built from the ground up for virtual reality. Immerse yourself in a sci-fi world of danger and destruction, available for the Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR and HTC Vive headsets.
