F1 2015 offers a good gameplay and good graphics, but the lack of modes, the damage system still imperfect and some bugs have an impact on the overall evaluation.
The game is great for those who love F1 action. Single player is very enjoyable. Multiplayer works fine. Yes, it does not have a career mode like ealier F1 titles but I never found them immersive enough to care. I have both Project Cars and F1 2015 and I really liked Project Cars but I can't go back. F1 2015 is just a more enjoyable pure racing experience. It has some problems and missing features (no safety car, for example); you can't change your race strategy at the start but you can during the race. Watch youtube career mode by Noble and you will really appreciate the game for many things it gets right.
The best looking F1 game yet, it features the 2014 and 2015 championships, with all 19 race tracks, including the new russian GP in Sochi. The gameplay is perfect too, as cars don’t needlessly spin like in the previous outings. There is no career mode, but the championship mode is great, although there should have been more options. The game's biggest strength is the well balanced difficulty, making winning the championship a great and fun challenge.
Not only Codemasters finally managed to release the game in the first half of the F1 season, and not when it ends, but the game itself has such a good driving model and is so fluent that it blows previous console editions out of the water. On the other hand, unfortunately, F1 2015’s content is very modest, with lack of a career mode being the biggest letdown. [09/2015, p.62]
Robust driving model, game content senselessly cut-off and barely average graphics make F1 2015 a particularly bitter pill. Shall we slap ourselves for hoping again? For the bold price you will get a bold disappointment, as they promised us the moon before. There is no reasonable excuse for this.
I have been A fan of formula one for a short time but to date this is by the far the best version in 2013
I couldn't even keep the car on the track and that was on xbox, PS4s graphics make this a worthwhile look
Even if your not a Motorsport fan....
Big fan of F1, but haven't bought a codemasters game since 2011. Had this game preordered for some time, I didn't expect much especially when the release was delayed. However the game plays very well, the graphics are good and frame rate stable at around 60fps. Despite the lack of game modes the main features of F1 racing are there, although the lack of safety car is inexplicable. I bought the game mainly for online play with friends and it does provide a great deal of fun, even if all the bugs aren't fixed yet. You can tell the game was rushed to be published, but the enjoyment is still there and with a few updates I think I would recommend the game.
Review from a die-hard F1 fan who has been to many of the current roster of tracks in real life.
This game has been getting a hard time since release.. Australia got this game on retail just over 1 full week before everyone else. I pre-ordered, got it day 1, played it for 3-4 days, then returned it. Why? Well, the game itself is decent while on track. However, there is SO much missing from the game, its more of a tech demo with a full track list rather than a full game. Im not going to go on about full career mode, because thats not a selling point for me. I find that having to go to my motorhome between races is a pain in the arse and i dont miss it at all. Criticisms below..
As said, on track its fine. Looks pretty enough, handles more or less satisfactorily despite the race marshalls being VERY lenient with corner cutting. I play my racers on max or close to max difficulty and the racing was a decent challenge. And, dare i say, its realistic in its driver (AI) settings insofar as Maldonado caused me many off track episodes during my time with the game.
Downsides:
Car setup and tuning is very weak. Eg There can be no excuse to have only 5 step settings for downforce on any game that wants to be taken seriously. Online aspect is also equally poor. You choose from a set of bunched characteristics for online race type... u cannot set race distance, u cannot force custom aid settings, u cannot even pick which race u want to enter: u can only choose a type (wheel to wheel / classics / general) and it will then force u to wait while the servers try to matchmake u into a lobby with a random track with random people. There is no browser.. This blows my mind. WHAT were the devs thinking? Codemasters have done themselves zero favours with this release.
I could forgive the lack of career mode if the rest of the game-eco-system was complete... but it isnt. 5/10 and i have already returned the game.
2/10 only because of F1 game now being available for PS4.
The game itself cant get much worse anyhow.
There's time trial and quick race left, which both has been destroyed by insane bugs, glitches and penalties including time trial "track limits".
Going on Kerbs might black flag you.
More shallow than any previous F1-game now without career mode. Yes, they left it out completely.
Also, codemasters somehow thinks forcing you to play difficulty settings every car game has if you just crank em up is fun.
Its not, AI crashes you out while game takes care you get penalties enough thats impossible to do 100% races.
Online is worth seeing, but only in youtube fail compilations.
Online cars fully stops or randomly speeds through walls etc. giving yellow track while you get penalties after penalties for just driving.
Codemasters probably really hate their F1-license.
This is the most poorly designed racing game I've ever played, the controls are broken even after tinkering with the settings for hours. The cars are impossible to control and spin out of control frequently, also the cars have a very hard time turning.
