The new game has applied a generous amount of polish to the things that it carried forward, and the new modes, such as Braking Point and the two-player career mode, add some appreciable entertainment to a solid racing game. It is equally enjoyable to an F1 nut as to someone who is entering the sport fandom, and I have been having a great time whenever I fire it up for a few laps.

F1 2021 has undeniably struggled with COVID and the limitations it has put on both the sport and the game. However, either despite or because of these limitations, this manages a step forward that the series failed to take two years ago, it brings a genuine story to the game. Braking Point is an undeniable success and, one would hope, marks a starting point in which Codemasters can advance as the series moves forward. Beyond this new mode, almost every aspect has been polished to a diamond-like shine, with the only aspects needing improvement are the MyTeam mode, which already looks lacking as a story of progression when compared to Braking Point, and the poor AI in team management. Despite this minor issue, there's no doubt in my mind that this is the best of the franchise so far and a great launching point to the next generation.

At first glance, this year’s installment of the Codemasters’ Formula 1 franchise might seem very similar to the game we played 12 months ago. However, the improved driving model and the revamped, more engaging story mode make F1 2021 a significant step forward and the best game in the series. [10/2021, p.52]

Whether you’re a fan of Formula 1, a die-hard sim enthusiast or even just a casual racing game fan then it’s hard to go past F1 2021. There’s something for everyone in this years offering, and I can’t wait to get stuck in to the new tracks later this year.

F1 2021 is an extremely complete experience that the racing fans should definitely check out. Veterans will feel right at home, while newcomers shouldn't be too afraid of the mechanics thanks to all the accessibility options.

Once again, F1 manages to be just a bit better in all the key areas. And, for the first time, there’s a documentary movie-inspired career mode that takes you right into the Formula 1 backstage. Overall, I guarantee you’ll spend dozens of hours on those circuits.

F1 2021 is not the great evolution or the step forward that we expected. The reasons are in plain sight and neither the context nor what happens depends on Codemasters.

The plot is interesting, the graphics do not stand still. But it would be necessary to refine the visual wear of the tires. This is very striking. They are always in front of your eyes and see their wear and tear normal wear and tear similar to what in real life is what people need. And now the wear is almost not visible, there is almost no visual difference between a new tire and a completely worn one. And I would like to return the rubber worms (pieces of rubber) in the corners as it was in f1 2016. Why they were removed then is unclear. They had a very good influence on realism. All this needs to be corrected once you raise the price of the game. It must match the price. And so it's not bad. Expand

It has been improved and upgraded in just the right places. As someone who has spent a lot of time in f1 2020, I can confirm that. The menu has been reworked. The graphics have been polished and the damage model is much better. What I think only the fewest noticed is that the game requires more updates, which I mean that the car performance is not always the same, it changes and the tracks are also optiemized. For I bought it for 57 euros and that's a pretty good price I think. Unfortunately, but must also make small cutbacks, for example, can no longer set in the race with which fuel mixture you drive is also so in the real F1 since the yes so. IMPORTANT NOTE PLEASE DO NOT buy the Braking Point Package that is a waste of money. You get Braking Point in the standard edition for free with it you just can not customize the drivers in Braking Point mode that is not necessary.
I would personally give the game a 9/10. And I recommend it to anyone who likes racing games.

    - They picked a pure white background for the UI and every time it pops out it blinds and you and hurt your eyes.
    - Every time a UI sound fires, all the other sounds skip for a fraction of a second, hopefully it's a bug and they will fix it.
    - They removed the very clear and practical development tree and add a new interface which is hard to read (vertical texts!?), navigate and understand. If it ain't broke don't fix it..
    - Every time you are in the garage and pass across the camera section you have this annoying and very noisy clip with the F1 logo which pisses you off.
    - They reduced the fast forward speed and it takes ages to skip to the end of a session and if you use the shortcut it will not bring you back to the computer room.
    - Drivers ratings are all over the place. Coulthard has a higher rating than Rosberg who is a World Champion and won against Hamilton!?
    - The new tracks are missing..
    - The old tracks haven't been updated..
    - They copy-pasted everything else..literally copy-pasted..it's unbelievable..

What exactly did they do in one year beside ruining the UI? Unless you want an updated roster, buy the old game, this one suck and it will only gets worse because of EA..

Finally EA increased the prices of the game in poor countries by a huge amount, so many gamers can no longer afford the game, but EA doesn't care cause is gonna milk people from rich countries anyway.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So crap, once again, could only be codemasters, with the new series of the game F1 2021. Unfortunately, the team of brave developers is not in a hurry to wipe after themselves. We released a beta version, with a huge number of bugs, for such a price, adding all this with another reskin of cars, a dumb story "broken point" and a completely broken online Expand

No Classic Cars! Typical EA. Comming to destroy this F1 game. I play it 1 hour on Steam, and take my money back.

No classic cars, but they added useless singleplayer mode called "braking point". It's ironic because it feels like the braking point of the series is on F1 2015 - the files of cars are stil called like 2015 ones. Track limits are the worst. You can abuse them as much as you want, but if you drive as F1 driver does you will get an invalidation. Multiplayer is still broken in many aspects. For me this is the worst F1 game ever, and I regret every penny that i spent on it. Many useless changes, not many useful ones. MFD looks like it's taken from 2010s. There are still some stupid cut offs of force feedback. This bug was in beta. I can't understand why are they charging so much for the game which is basically a reskin of F1 2020, which is a reskin of F1 2019, and so on... There is one good thing in this game - Driving feels much better, but that's the only advantage of the game that should be in development for another half a year. Expand
