An incredibly robust and enjoyable take on the tower defense genre. Tight controls, a plethora of options, and a general fun factor that keeps you coming back again, and again, and again. It is hard not to love this game.

Orcs Must Die embellishes your devious side, encouraging you to devise clever ways of fulfilling the command of the title. For the not-so-clever, mowing down invaders with an automatic crossbow is also a great time.

Despite its quirky, comical outer shell, it's a game that has a surprising amount of depth to it, a characteristic that makes it both challenging and satisfying. Whether you're a fan of all-out, balls-to-the-wall action games, or more of a strategy connoisseur, Orcs Must Die! definitely deserves your undivided attention.

A rare tower defense game is addictive enough to suck you into playing it for days on end. Orcs Must Die is one of them.

Setting traps to kill thousands and thousands of Orcs has always been a dream for you. Then here is what you were looking for ! Renewing the Tower Defense gameplay, Orcs Must Die is full of good and fun ideas. Despite its lack of ambition regarding the absence of a multiplayer mode and a story not so interesting to follow, players will surely spend some good times thinking about the different and effcient ways they can use to kill Orcs with style!

Orcs Must Die is a fine game, not just because of the hybrid concept between real time strategy and action, but also for its accessible gameplay that allows anyone to play without a tutorial. The 50 action packed levels full of smooth gameplay are a true bargain at 15 Euros on Live Marketplace and 10,99 Euros on Steam. OMD! misses the excellence just because of the absence of multiplayer: with a coop mode it would have been great.

A Tower Defense game which is so fast, you'd sometimes wish for it to slow down. [December 2011, p.100]

This game follows the traditionalRobot Entertainment have produced a slick action game here based around the popular tower defence genre. This game follows the traditional tower defence script of building traps to stop a constant stream of enemy foe but introduces player spells and weapons to assist.
Far from becoming confused the game merges the 2 styles effortlessly, there are occasions when building an intricate series of diversions and traps is the order of the day and other times when equipping your poking stick and some fire gauntlets is required to smite the raging hordes.
The game follows a steady learning curve, those new to tower defense games will be handheld throughout the first stages and with the game introducing new skills and abilities as you go along you will never feel overwhelmed at the pace.
The games real charm rests in the war mage himself, the character story is developed via cut scenes between levels, he's equipped with a few witty one liners that he will dole out at various times and you cant help but like the guy!
The graphics are good, the music is solid and atmospheric and at less than $15 this game is a bargain. Some people will play through it once but with the introduction of the "skull ranking" system many will replay the levels in order to 5 skull them. In this game skulls mean upgrades and upgrades means more dead orcs! ... This game takes its place as one of the best tower defence games available today. With the announcement of a sequel on the way things are looking good for Robot Entertainment.

Sure they must! ... and they'll die in many ways ;) That's your job to find the most effective way to send them to the orcish afterlife! VERY fun game, colorful, funny, entertaining... But most of all - Orcs Must Die offers polished gameplay combining TPP and elements of tower-defence game. Sounds crazy and sure it is... But this game is like a chocolate cake - it's good if we taste it in 'not-so-big' portions. Gameplay can be boring, if we play too long in one sitting. Maybe co-op or multiplayer would change it? ... Ok, but why so serious? Game is fun, lots of orcs to kill, lots of traps, achievements, upgrades. 10 euros is a steal so you should probably buy it! Expand

Levels have great variety and there are numerous different traps and items to use and they unlock as you progress through the levels so that helps keep the gameplay a bit fresh. The upgrade system is horrible though, and sometimes you can get massive FPS drops when a lot is happening on screen or when you get close to where the Orcs enter the map. The devs also released DLC one month after release...not a fan of that at all. Decent game but shady developer decisions... Expand

But as you got to the later levels you realize that there is really only one defense setup that works. And that is disgusting. I get stuck on some levels for hours simply because there is no way to deal with the waves of different enemies. There is no defense that is "guaranteed" or more likely to deal with a certain type of enemy. I'm stuck on the last 3-4 levels, having tried dozens upon dozens of setups, and nothing is working. Basically most of this game is "put down some traps to see the orcs get hurt, laugh a little and then spray them with a crossbow and pray they don't get through". I really liked this game when I started it, but now it just plain disgusts me. I'm sorry to say I regret buying it. Expand
