Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is an average game that will receive more attention for the name rather than its own merits. Nonetheless, the game has good moments of indiscriminate shooting albeit a short and not particularly innovative singleplayer. The multiplayer increases the fun but we doubt about the survival of the community past this summer.

Obviously, Raccoon City is not the best Resident Evil game. It's a third person shooter with poor AI, clunky gameplay and standard production values. Its campaign is quite short, but its multiplayer modes provide hours of zombie fun.

Operation Raccon City has a pretty good multiplayer and some smooth controls. That is unfortunately where the goodness ends. The singleplayer is weak and the A.I. is just as stupid as the zombies.

A Weskered development gives us the Wong game. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is evil in the wrong sense. [Sept 2012, p.70]

All these guns and abilities are wasted in a game that never makes good on its potential, and what potential you glimpse is overshadowed by a careless porting job that makes you wonder why the teams responsible even bothered in the first place.

And yet again, the only bright spot in a game about zombies is a CG promo that has nothing in common with the actual gameplay.

Absolutely useless addition to Resident Evil series throws away almost everything that made this series famous. The solo campaign is almost unplayable and multiplayer isn't any better. [June 2012]

That is to say, this game is enjoyable. Gone is any frustration at a cripple pretty-boy main character who has his feet bolted to the ground as soon as he pulls out a gun. Gone is any frustration at managing a Tetris-esque inventory. Every Resident Evil game should be like this; fun, enjoyable, playable. Even if the desktop versions seems like a port, it is still better than any other game in this series. Buy this game, and if you want to learn the rest of the story, just check the wiki or Youtube. Don't subject yourself to any other Resident Evil Game. Expand

This game can be very fun when played with several friends because it really does encourage teamwork. It's also the just about the only way to beat the game the AI is so bad. Plus the game looks good and chopping through hordes of zombies with melee is fun to. The bad in this game is glaring from the terrible AI, spongy enemies that absorb bullets, generic third person shooter mechanics and fairly non-threatening zombies. This game isn't the worst game ever but between the hype and its namesake one can't help but be underwhelmed. Expand

The game is just like any average 3rd person shooter, but with zombies and the name "Resident Evil" in the title. Really disapointing. The only good thing about it is that you're going to have some good fun slaying zombies with your friends. It's really sad to see such a bad resident evil game. Expand

Interesting try to make a "coop" game in resident's setting... but awful realization. Predictable ratings and disappearance from game markets.
