The long, beautifully varied campaign combines party sections and real-time battles to form a complete, complete picture, driven by a really exciting story.

Building on its predecessor’s mixture of RTS and RPG elements, SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest provides an engaging recipe that we don’t often get nowadays. A stand-alone expansion in the traditional sense, exploring its 20-hour long story campaign means uncovering a plot with significant consequences alongside a handful of charismatic companions. Whether delving into ancient ruins as a party of four or leading armies on the frontlines, Soul Harvest’s unique blend of RTS and RPG is one worth experiencing.

SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is certainly one of the best mixtures of cRPG/RTS currently available on the market, and helps both genres to get back on track after several years of inconsistency.

Overall production values are great with all dialogue having accompanying voice acting and when talking to NPCs you’re often presented with several dialogue choices - many of which expand the world’s lore and current events. With several quality of life and mechanic upgrades from SpellForce 3, Soul Harvest is an enjoyable experience that scratches both the RPG and RTS itch. A blend that still feels unique to this series, and one that continues to impress all these years later.

A lengthy campaign, welcome additions and clever improvements make Soul Harvest a noticeably better experience than the bug-ridden Spellforce 3.

Even with SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest releasing so close to SpellForce 3, it’s worth it. The new storyline alone alongside the well crafted systems for both the RPG explorations and the RTS building of armies makes for a good time for both new and old fans alike.

The amount of content devs put into this "expansion" is so big that it could be actually a stand-alone title.
THQ showed its class with Soul Harvest and is a example for the whole industry for how expansions should be made.
They stand in pair with CDP Red when it comes to showing how real standards look like - not this rubbish day-one dlcs etc.
Kudos for you and I'll definitely buy another Spellforce when it's released!
One sad thing which comes to my mind is how the RPS genre is underrated and forgotten...
    Warcraft 3.....nothing else....Spellforce...
It's my no. 1 type of games which I'll always support as much as I can so let's all appreciate what they did with this game!

Even people on the official spellforce discord have somehow missed the release of this game. As for my actual review: The game is beautiful, stable and almost bug-less, The RTS and RPG parts are both highly improved over the base game and the story is just great. Also, we can't forget the beautiful music which was always the best part of the series. In my honest opinion, it's at least on par with Spellforce 1 which I consider the best game ever (but that might be nostalgia speaking). Expand

I just finished the campaign and it blew me away with its story and complex characters. The atmosphere is just great and I love the writers for their jobs. Katras and Yria are my favourites.

The gameplay mix of RTS and RPG works better as in Spellforce 3. The units have been reworked and many have special abilities. I just have played dwarfs, humans and dark elves, but they really play differently from each other. Dark elves have to collect souls from defeated foes, to get their real powerful units and can upgrade all their buildings. Dwarfs just can build up a solid economy rapidly and have more conservative units and lack healers (so do dark elves, but they just ressurrect half of a battleground during a fight in that regard.) The spellmenu has been reworked, to be more accessible. All in all it was just a blast to play through the game

Please give this one a shot - it is a really great and lacks multiplayer participants. (yes, you can play the entire campagin Coop. But I want to find more people to play some skirmishes.)

The gameplay feelsSpellForce 3: Soul Harvest aimed to improve the base which SpellForce 3 had established and this time, they delivered. The gameplay feels better, fresher and most importantly, it’s a lot of fun – all of which made me really enjoy it and gave me that good old SpellForce feeling that I’ve been missing for so long.

The campaign delivers a solid and well-polished 20-hour narrative which does a good job of balancing RPG and RTS – the two big trademarks of the series and at only 25 Euro at release (15 if you own SpellForce 3!), SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is definitely a game that is worth its price and that I’d recommend everyone to put into their gaming library!

The game from what i have played so far seems way more polished and the campaign is way more interesting also the gameplay feels more fluid with a better AI and less annoyances and there are some positive changes that were made based from gamers feedback. If the RTS/RPG genre is your thing you should give this game a try Expand

Devs reforged some RPG and RTS aspects and it became more interesting. Gameplay has become smoother, i'd say! I felt light wind of SpellForce 1 but ... But i'm like a fan of old school rpg do not share such SF3 style of skills and stats , - it is very simple. There are little statistical points with compare to SF1, also only one armor slot without pants slot and etc. It could be much more better if SF3 had stats system from SF1, where statistics would play a major role. My verdict is 8 because of RPG part. Future SpellForce game must be more strong in RPG, and more similar to SF1 ( auras , runes, magic). Expand
