An incredibly powerful, emotionally engaging experience; a watershed moment for videogame narrative and storytelling. [Feb 2013, p.70]

The Walking Dead represents a jewel in the realm of episodic adventures. This game will shock you. It'll make you cry and curse. One of the most memorable gaming experience we've had in a long time. Don't miss out on it.

Overall this game was a unique experience that is not your everyday type of game, but is worth playing and I would suggest this game to almost anyone. It is a game that simply tells a beautiful and tragic story. It sucks you in emotionally and does not let go.

There are really too few game elements in The Walking Dead to justify calling it a game. Its amazing world, great voice actors and the tough decisions it throws at you constantly will have you completely forget about this though. It's a compelling story that grabs you from the opening of the game and doesn't let go until its controversial ending in the last chapter. The intelligent choice-system gives you the feeling that you're creating your own story, which is why you'll lose yourself in the characters in no-time. It never gets really challenging, but for those who enjoy a good story, it's a great enrichment of the Walking Dead-universe.

Possibly the best game series we have played so far – also the most consistent and heart-taking stories you will find in video games. [Christmas 2012]

The Walking Dead series offers one of the most intense game story of recent years that is not hardcore on its gamers from the adventure point of view. So relax, seat yourselves and let the zombie-apocalyptic world suck you in.

In all that time, I have never once had a game illicit a serious emotional response, but this game did thrice: anger when I found what a stranger had done, frustration when I found someone in our party had lied, and regret when I realized I had to let a friend down. And this is the spoiler-free version of the review. After playing this game, you'll no longer wonder why Hollywood is losing out to the video games industry. These are stories *worth* telling. Expand

Gripped from start to end, along the way developing ever changing feeling towards the diverse characters that you meet in this Zombie Apocalypse. The game is split into 5 nicely paced out episodes, each adding their own different set of characters and twists and turns for the main protagonist and his companions the face. My favorite being episode 2. I am unable to remember feeling such tension in a any form of entertainment, let alone a game, than I did in episode 2. I personally enjoyed exploring the area of each scene and talking to all of the characters to hear of the stories they had to tell. Thoroughly deserved game of the year... pure brilliance from Telltale! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the best games I ever played. I wish I could forget all of that and play it again. The ending was heartbreaking, characters were amazing and the whole storyline was very interesting to explore. But I have to admit, I wish that our choices would mean more. Most of them don't really matter, the outcome is always the same. Expand

The play reminds me of a "choose your own adventure" book from back inthe 1980s. The music and sound effects are good, the art is a nice comic book style, the controls are smooth, as is the camera. I enjoyed playing the first season. After the complete second season comes out, I'll probably get it when it goes on sale. Not a game I'd pay full price for, but worth 50% off. Expand

Because all I wanted out of this game was choices that matter like in Beyond or Heavy Rain. Choices that can alter the way the game goes. And this game, like all other telltale games turned out to be a complete hoax. They tell you that you choices matter, but in the end it all comes down to one preset ending. And no matter what you do you cant save this person you really wanted to save. Its like watching a movie, just sometimes they let you do a little walking around or a little cut-scene action, like clicking some buttons while the cutscene is being displayed. But really, whats the point of playing a game like this, and paying for it, when there are games like Detroit : Become Human, or many others already out. And they offer a real sense of choice. Im very disappointed by this game because I hoped it would be much more than it actually is... Expand
