There is quite frankly an overwhelming amount of content in Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate – while those upgrading from the base game may find it difficult to justify the cost outside of Infinity Mode, there’s no question that anybody tossing up between the base Orochi 4 and Ultimate at this point should absolutely go with the latter.
The hardness and challenge for this game its the biggest part of it its away from the game. 2 of my favourite Characters are Gracia and Toshie Maeda why? Because of the work the voice actors put on samurai warriors 2 xl. So its to note how on such a bloated playable roster they still put the effort to give the character that it factor made you fall in love with it many years ago.
The musou games shines on the design of the characters and this time are not different. The gods are just as godly as you would expect. And even the story tries to respect they personalities and traits.
And then you become super saiyan. Warriors games have kind of a funny curve, sometimes, even most times i would say you have to totally max out the character to it even survive on chaos. Samurai warrios 2 xl on expert its a trial very few youtubers try out even to this date. This time you totally stomp pandemonium like its tuesday. Since you can pick elements for the weapon one by one and really easily on chaos, you will have god like characters with only the 3 weapon. Although its not chaos or pandemonium are easy. Most enemies can one shot you but you have so much firepower they all die before touching you.
Customize a character is fun too, very few characters are perfect, so to build them into literal god killers is fun too.
I am not a fan of how these miso games and Japanese fighter games release different version after different version to **** every penny out of the consumer . That said this is for me the best musou I ever made in my opinion. Heaps of movies and characters endless combinations of attacks absolutely gorgeous characters. My favourite m USO game to date
For players who have yet to pick up the game, it’s hard to beat the value provided in this package. That said, it’s safe to say that this is for genre fans only — this game scratches a very specific itch, and not everyone will want to scratch it.
At this point, you are most likely either in or out when it comes to the series. Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate is a fun Warriors game, but won’t change your mind on the genre.
Ultimate, er, ultimately transforms Warriors Orochi 4 into a much more complete package. That said, it's a shame that many of these improvements come courtesy of paid DLC -- pretty expensive DLC at that. For newcomers, Warriors Orochi 4 now gets a recommendation. For existing fans, you'll have to weigh up whether the additions are enough to pull you back in.
In the end, Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate is a mediocre Musou title. The action of wiping out giant hordes of enemies is exhilarating at first and the gameplay is rather polished but unfortunately, that's all there is to it and there's no feeling of escalation.
This is what Warriors Orochi 4 should've been when the game launched.
The title offers an even better and deeper character customization than WO3 offered. Promotions are back, upgrade stones are back, character stats cap are lifted, skill trees are expanded, players can craft weapons, etc. The game simply just offers a lot of stuff to do and a lot of ways to upgrade your characters.
The story has been expanded, new characters have been, added and an extra game mode similar to what WO3 makes a come back through the "infinity" mode.
The game is extremely fun gameplay wise and yes while it will get repetitive is addictive enough to offer plenty of replayability due to the ridiculous amount of playable characters.
People seem to score this game much worse than the vanilla version and truth be told I can't even exactly blame them for doing it but frankly speaking it's unfair.
This game doesn't require a previous purchase of the vanilla version and the only reason it **** is if you bought the vanilla version on release for 60 euros and now having to upgrade for another 40 but if you judge this game on its own there's no way this game is worse off than the vanilla version.
Frankly speaking this is the most fun Warriors game up to date and if you are a fan of this franchise or of this type of game than by all means this game will not disappoint.
I didn't like how the CPU can just automatically block your triangle **** DLC is to pricey and some Dlc and Sacred treasures non Dlc need to do better with animations.
However despite that the Story is unique with Mythology playing a good role with mechanics and being incorperated in the story. Good graphics.
This has to be the best and most satisfying Warriors game I have played since DW8 (as DW9 was an absolute car-crash). Everything you want to see in a good Warriors game is here.
The graphics are not anything spectacular for a Warriors game and likely won't be blowing any minds, but they work well. I was impressed that the framerate did not suffer badly with the amount of enemies on-screen. The only bizarre thing I noticed was the way enemies would often charge at me uniformly in a zig-zag manner, which may or may not have been intentional. What I particularly enjoyed was seeing an impressive cast of characters and their well-created models.
The game of WO4U is probably my favourite gameplay so far. I really enjoyed having multiple methods of combining attacks, from charge attack and magic attacks. Add to this the ability to rotate between three characters on the battlefield and I never got bored of smashing heads. I also really enjoyed abilities such as being able to ride around the field on a literal wave, smashing through enemies as I went. This kind of eccentric and crazy combat is what Warriors is famous for and I hope it never changes.
Although the campaign largely revolves around "go here and beat X", this is precisely why we play DW. Beating up enemies by the thousands has never been more enjoyable for me. Being able to upgrade my character like an RPG became incredibly satisfying. The downside of this is at many characters are not unlocked until later in the game, so you have to repeat old missions for XP which can be a bit repetitive since Lu Bu etc. are not unlocked until very late in the game.
One notable flaw in the gameplay flow is the dialogue. Subtitles disappear during certain actions such as unity magic, meaning you can miss out on little bits of the story. A similar issue is with unlocking doors, as the game leads you to believe this hinges on defeating enemies, but is usually achieved once the dialogue after beating an enemy is complete, meaning any overkill attacks can see you standing still for a good 30 seconds waiting for a conversation to end and a door to open. It's not a huge problem, just a mild annoyance.
The story of WO4U is enjoyable but voluntary in the sense that you can engage as little or as much as you want, which is a very good way to have a story for me. I played through seven chapters, which generally saw an overarching bad guy in each chapter to beat at the end before they join you going forward. WO4U also has the advantage of going beyond traditional DW lore and includes Greek mythology characters such as Zeus so it captures your interest a bit more and it's quite humorous to see the exchanges of dialogue between such characters.
Overall, WO4U is exactly what we need after the exalting disappointment of a car-crash that was DW9. Having said that, I would also like to highlight the continued terrible practice of the publishers, as WO4U is the game WO4 should have been at launch. There is not need for two versions of the game at full price, so the score has been impacted for this. If you love Warriors, you should love this too, regardless. Just make sure to avoid the base version.
Why why make the same game over and over when you guys had the perfect chance to create something so different and epic changing the core and making it filled with more monsters tactics abilities and new functions... so very sad feels the same as the ones before.
