A fantastic campaign mode, a VR mode so great that it should go down in history, and so many other aspects make Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown an incredible package. However, it helps to be familiar with the series in order to savor its greatness.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown finally fulfills the expectations of those players from my generation who loved Ace Combat 04 and 5, bringing the series back to its roots in a masterful way. While there are a few relevant innovations, the good folks at Project Aces kept their eyes and ears open and listened to the fans of the franchise who wanted to return to Strangereal and to the Ace Combat that we know and love.

One of the most beloved franchises of Bandai Namco is back. Ace Combat 7 is a success in every single respect. It's a great game.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is a top entry in the long-running series that sees a return to the PS2 glory days. The war opera story is enjoyably charming, despite a rather flat cast of characters, while the gameplay is, crucially, as dramatic and slick as it's ever been. Online multiplayer and PSVR are both implemented well, and serve as great companion pieces to the main campaign. Whether you’re a diehard fan or coming to this game fresh, Skies Unknown is a joy, and a series highlight.

As much as I enjoy Ace Combat 7, though, you can see where Team Aces played it safe. There’s very little in the way of new features, and some of the cool options from past games have been removed in favor of a more streamlined experience. Multiplayer makes up for this a bit, but it too has design problems that put its future in doubt in my eyes. That being said, this is an excellent game and a fantastic Ace Combat game, and I’m glad to see the main series making a return after so many years.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, however, has managed to effortlessly fly back into battle without missing a shot. Everything that you loved about the old iterations has evolved with the times and delivered a solid new combat flight simulation experience.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is a solid experience for fighter plane enthusiasts, but it plays things too safe. Sticking to a tried-and-tested formula that has ensured the series' success and continuation for nearly 25 years is a sound strategy, but it lacks in innovation and any new exciting creative direction.

The game has brought back what made the series great. It reminds me more of ace combat 5 in terms of how much depth it brought, but of course this has been expanded greatly on the newest generation.

I have been taken back to my first Ace Combat game, (AC2), where I was truly blown away by the graphics, mechanics, and overall polish. This new title has stepped its game up greatly from AC6, and is now the single best air combat based game to beat.

I've already put 80 hours into this game. A game that calls back to the greatness of Ace Combat's fan favorite of the series, Ace Combat 5:I've already put 80 hours into this game. A game that calls back to the greatness of Ace Combat's fan favorite of the series, Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. There are a few key features gone awry in Ace Combat 7, however in terms of game design. You can't shoot unmarked targets, lack of friendly fire, and a few planes from old series missing, like the F-117A - these are my only gripes with Ace Combat 7. As for the rest, Gameplay? 10 out of 10. Story? 9 out of 10. Graphics? The best they have ever been.

Ace Combat 7 is the most realistic Ace Combat game yet, And if you give it a chance you will not be disappointed. Great job Namco! You have re-ignited a flame in your fans hearts that have waited for a game of this prestige for a decade!

Ace Combat 7 follow the lineage of Ace Combat PS2 trilogy and Ace Combat 6.

Graphics are nice and realistic with a smooth 60 fps (on PS4 Pro at least). The gameplay hasn't change much which is nice, it's arcadish but not to simple. I'm just disappointed by the fact that you can't give orders to your allies anymore. I also wish there was few more mechanics like take out the landing gear manually, but the overall feeling is still great.

The story is good, and like AC0 or 5, there is a main narrative character, different from the one you play who is very mysterious, you don't see him and don't hear him talk. You now have a "tree" with planes and various upgrades to unlock with the virtual money of the game. The multiplayer has only 2 modes, but it's working very fine. Last but not least, the soundtrack is, once again, a masterpiece full of epic tracks.

Project Aces has done a great game, Ace Combat 7 is highly recommended, fans of the franchise will not be disappointed.

In regards to the campaign, the story could be better presented.
The multiplayer has a great fun factor but lacks diversity.
Overall, it's a great Ace Combat game but it still needs to improve it's campaign presentation and multiplayer options.

    Overall i'm really disappointed.

The game is not terrible, but far from the great game Ace combat used to be. I've been playing Ace combat since ps1 and this one is clearly not as fun as previous games.
Some missions are more frustrating than enjoyable. For example, the annihilation missions are not hard, but why put a time limit that will prevent me from playing the way i want ? why so many missiles all the time ? I'm just hearing missile alert all the time, i just don't pay attention anymore. pointless! And that is just a few points...

Then they are the VR missions! I was amazed, best vr experience ever! But after 30 minutes, done!

    well... just very disappointing
