The graphics, sound and physics engine promise to be the most realistic ever experienced in a driving simulator thanks to the new platform and the new technologies, but that alone would be a too obvious improvement: the way driving games are played also promise to undergo a revolution with Gran Turismo SPORT. This is a vision that invokes the rebirth of motorsports. The major difference between real life motorsports and Gran Turismo SPORT is in the fact that anyone, from children to the elderly, can participate and enjoy racing. Even players who have never played driving games until now can discover how fun it is to drive. Whilst at the same time, it promises the depth and complexity to meet the expectations of the existing Gran Turismo fans. Expand

After a long wait, Gran Turismo Sport is here, and it is racing perfection beyond measure. This is the best racing game that I have ever played, overflowing in beauty, grace, playability, and precision. Driving a go-kart, a fusion-engine concept race car, or a standard Ford Focus all provide a wealth of fun and unique challenges. Gran Turismo Sport is a triumph, and will be played voraciously by racing fans for years and years to come.

Gran Turismo comes to PlayStation 4 clearly focused on the online content and on the eSports, forgetting too much about the single player mode. Polyphony Digital has decided to bring something new to the saga thanks to better gameplay mechanics and realism.

Compared to past games in the series, Gran Turismo Sport is an admittedly trimmed-down experience. There are fewer cars and features with no trips to the moon. However, it’s also true that much of what was lost really needed to be cut. GT Sport makes the most of its new focus on competition and it does an admirable job of training you to be a better driver. It can be intimidating to head online for the first time, but once you finish a race in a respectable position, it feels like all the time you’ve invested has truly paid off.

Regardless of its foibles, let this installment be the start of a real commitment by Polyphony Digital to online racing – one that is folded into the main series' career mode and which is not just a temporary dabble like the track creator of GT 5 or the dynamic time/weather and race clubs of GT 6. GT Sport has enough qualities that it should be the start of something better and not just a detour for the franchise.

Gran Turismo Sport fails to make our heart beat with a lack of content, and not many real existing cars or tracks, which feels odd for "The real driving simulator". The Fair-Play system isn't yet working properly, but hopefully it will before the start of the eSport season. At least players can still enjoy a nice physics model and an enjoyable feel to the drive.

Gran Turismo Sport is a good game, and yet, it’s still a disappointment. Given this series’ pedigree, good simply isn’t good enough. GT Sport still brings it on the track, but its lack of content can’t be ignored, and you can’t give the game top marks in world where Forza Motorsport 7 and Project CARS 2 exist. If you’re a diehard fan of Sony’s series or really into online racing, GT Sport is worth a shot. If you just want the best racing sim out there, you may want to kick some more tires.

With its lack of content and boring solo campaign, Gran Turismo Sport is simply inferior to its predecessors.

The VR aspect to GT Sport has added an awesome new dimension to the series. Now when I'm rewarded a new car, it's so much more of a big deal, since I can walk round the car in the VR viewer, admiring the beautiful designs as if these vehicles were right in front of me.

The cycle of gameplay is: race cars in 2D, earn money and daily gift car, go into VR to admire recently acquired cars and then take them for a test drive. Rinse and repeat. I'm totally hooked on this routine.

The graphics, sound, music and presentation are all pristine too.

In summary GT Sport maintains the high standards of the series and the VR implementation takes it to a whole new level.

While it may suck that the classic career mode is gone and that the game starts off with just a small selection of cars I think it is replacedWhile it may suck that the classic career mode is gone and that the game starts off with just a small selection of cars I think it is replaced by something that may just be as valuable with the new sports mode. The game is now more about racing other humans of your skill level and it pays off as you can feel yourself becoming a much better driver over time that is learning more more over time. The car roster may be small but considering they have all been made from the ground up for the ps4 rather than just ported over they look stunning and show every bit of it up to he smallest detail. And while it breaks my heart that there is no classic career the single player missions are rather fun to be honest with the short and nice missions that change in variety over time and even a driving school for new comers. Overall if you want a single player racer you are probably better sticking to forza or need for speed but if you want some great online racing and to experience what realistic racing would be like this game is for you. That concludes the "pros" of this game. Terrible car selection. Terrible amount of tracks. Having to be always online is still a terrible idea. No car mods because apparently new people are too stupid to understand how to use them. They still haven't figured out how to just penalize the bad driver instead of penalizing the person who git rear ended as well. GT6 did it perfect with both the career mode and with online. Seasonals were fun to play and if you wanted to race real humans online, you could. They seriously need to delete the bs 10 scores. A ten is a perfect game yet these people are listing cons in their reviews. The zero scores can go as well because the graphics are awesome. I preordered this game the very first day you were able to and before any reviews were out or gameplay footage. I will never do that again. I wasted $84 on the deluxe edition that gave me 13 useless cars and 2 million useless credits. Thanks to the PS4 store I wasn't able to cancel my preorder so I am done preordering games and done buying Gran Turismo games after 20 years of buying every one. Expand

Do not buy this game, there's no real single player (mp focused game).
No tuning, lack of content (around 160 cars, in reality maybe 80-100 are unique). 27 tracks if I'm not mistaken.
Lazy cashgrab on a license, online will die out very soon as there's no real progression system present.
A disgrace to Gran Turismo franchise.
