The graphics, sound and physics engine promise to be the most realistic ever experienced in a driving simulator thanks to the new platform and the new technologies, but that alone would be a too obvious improvement: the way driving games are played also promise to undergo a revolution with Gran Turismo SPORT. This is a vision that invokes the rebirth of motorsports. The major difference between real life motorsports and Gran Turismo SPORT is in the fact that anyone, from children to the elderly, can participate and enjoy racing. Even players who have never played driving games until now can discover how fun it is to drive. Whilst at the same time, it promises the depth and complexity to meet the expectations of the existing Gran Turismo fans. Expand

After a long wait, Gran Turismo Sport is here, and it is racing perfection beyond measure. This is the best racing game that I have ever played, overflowing in beauty, grace, playability, and precision. Driving a go-kart, a fusion-engine concept race car, or a standard Ford Focus all provide a wealth of fun and unique challenges. Gran Turismo Sport is a triumph, and will be played voraciously by racing fans for years and years to come.

Gran Turismo comes to PlayStation 4 clearly focused on the online content and on the eSports, forgetting too much about the single player mode. Polyphony Digital has decided to bring something new to the saga thanks to better gameplay mechanics and realism.

Compared to past games in the series, Gran Turismo Sport is an admittedly trimmed-down experience. There are fewer cars and features with no trips to the moon. However, it’s also true that much of what was lost really needed to be cut. GT Sport makes the most of its new focus on competition and it does an admirable job of training you to be a better driver. It can be intimidating to head online for the first time, but once you finish a race in a respectable position, it feels like all the time you’ve invested has truly paid off.

Regardless of its foibles, let this installment be the start of a real commitment by Polyphony Digital to online racing – one that is folded into the main series' career mode and which is not just a temporary dabble like the track creator of GT 5 or the dynamic time/weather and race clubs of GT 6. GT Sport has enough qualities that it should be the start of something better and not just a detour for the franchise.

Gran Turismo Sport fails to make our heart beat with a lack of content, and not many real existing cars or tracks, which feels odd for "The real driving simulator". The Fair-Play system isn't yet working properly, but hopefully it will before the start of the eSport season. At least players can still enjoy a nice physics model and an enjoyable feel to the drive.

Gran Turismo Sport is a good game, and yet, it’s still a disappointment. Given this series’ pedigree, good simply isn’t good enough. GT Sport still brings it on the track, but its lack of content can’t be ignored, and you can’t give the game top marks in world where Forza Motorsport 7 and Project CARS 2 exist. If you’re a diehard fan of Sony’s series or really into online racing, GT Sport is worth a shot. If you just want the best racing sim out there, you may want to kick some more tires.

With its lack of content and boring solo campaign, Gran Turismo Sport is simply inferior to its predecessors.

    THIS IS SPORT
Granturismo sport aims to reinvent the franchise, gone are is the classic career mode, in its wake is the much-anticipated sports mode. Gran Turismo brings the visceral experience of racing against other humans to your living room. The game does an incredible job of matching your skill level to that of others for close clean racing. No other racing game I have played is as enjoyable or satisfying online as GT sport . The car roster while small is diverse, all cars are balanced to race against other cars in their respective fields ! . The single player missions are fun, No need to grind as XP and mileage points are handed out generously

Pros - Best online racing PERIOD
    - Best looking racing game on the PS4
    - amazing livery editor
    - Sleek, snappy presentation
    - great sounds
    - Solid 60fps
    - Great physics

    cons
    - Small, yet fun career mode
    - Small car roster compared to previous GT games
    - Tracks are lacking
    - a radical departure from the past games, but a needed one

ItsGT Sports is simply a masterpiece, from the jaw dropping visuals, to the slick menus, to the brilliant handling physics, "This is Sport". Its fair to say that GTS is head and shoulders above GT6 in every way. The cars have more weight and grip to them, its no longer as easy to throw a car into a corner like GT6 and expect to come out the other side still doing 120mph, you really need to break early and catch the curb perfectly to get the best out of each car, each cars characteristics are very well implemented and the cars feel alive. The Sound Department has had a major upgrade and each car sounds as they should, backfire, gear whine and chasis judder are just some of the sound effects that are present, tire squeel has been updated, sounds much more realistic and quieter as it should. Graphically GTS has the best lighting engine of any console racer to date, its simply stunning, especially with dynamic 4k HDR on the PS4 Pro, PD spent 4 years working on HDR and it shows as its the best representation of HDR so far this gen. GTS features a non traditional campaign instead focusing on teaching people how to drive, race etiquette and mission challenges which can require you to pass as many cars as possible before the time runs out or simply knock down all the cones on track. the car rewards alone are enough to encourage you to get gold in all of them, top it of with Lewis Hamilton as your racing guide to show you the fastest way around the Green Hell and the package really starts to come together. For people who enjoyed the online lobby racing in GT6 fear not as GTSports has this same lobby system but much much better, you literally have a tone of features to set up your dream races with friends and is very easy to navigate through the menus and settings.Sport mode is were players will compete in Esports competitions in conjunction with the FIA with the goal of attaining a real world racing license. All the tutorials that you will play through in campaign are designed to help you be a better racing driver in Sports mode. With dedicated servers in Sports mode the connections are rock solid as you would expect and racing is fun and exciting. Scapes, a place you can lose hours of your life snapping the perfect photo with over 1000 scapes to chose from the possibilities are endless. Livery Editor were you can create your own unique graphic designs for whatever cars you like, its something the fans have wanted for a long time and PD have delivered. overall while GTS offers less cars and tracks then its rivals, the level of detail is unrivaled and the decision to focus on quality instead of quantity is justified. With 500 cars still to come and more tracks through free/paid DLC, GTSports is going to be around for a long time. I highly recommend GTS to anyone who loves racing games. Expand

Its visible that a lot of hard work has gone into this - well done, it shows.
Where it does not show is its application. GT was a unique driving simulator and has clearly been spooked by competitors, which will now clearly beat them. A "campaign" based around doing skill tests is a complete farce.
I had fun on the one multiplayer game I played which consisted of waiting 15mins and then playing 2mins before I got a connection error - where I quickly found 'Arcade' became the only option offline.
I expected a poor range of cars, tracks and customisation - but nothing like what has been presented. Its a demo/FTP.

I recommend waiting for December patch before buying the game as it will add a real single player campaign.

I really like the game, and TBH it is one of the better driving sims out there, but until they fix their dreadful SR system and stop punishing victims of bad driversI can't give this game a positive rating.

If you dismiss the awful SR system in sport mode, the single player content is currently just barebones school and some boring chalenges. Even the bots don't follow GTR sportmanship etiquette as they quite regulary knock you off the course.
