    Resident Evil 5 suffers from duff AI and a few other niggles, but is overall a fantastic, content-packed action game with brilliant co-op appeal.

    RE5 is a great third person action game, but this version doesn't add anything relevant if you already have the Gold Edition. Imperfect, but very enjoyable.

    Yet another re-release of a Resident Evil game. But Resident Evil 5 was then -and still is- a decent, well designed game that lacks the “horror” element but has lots of soul and substance.

    As with Resident Evil 6's remaster, Resident Evil 5 adopts 1080p and 60fps (almost always) successfully. Always keeping in mind that it is a game launched in 2009 and it's gameplay mechanics are kind of dated, it can be a good game for those who love non-stop action. There is no survival horror moments, but enough content to be entertained for quite some hours and high-end production values.

    The only thing still attractive about RE5 is Sheva Alomar. Everything else – the design, the mechanics, the visuals (it’s a port, not a remaster) – aged to various degrees, but always noticeably. [09/2016, p.63]

    Resident Evil 5 is a confounding game: it can be criticised for both mirroring its predecessor too closely and also for changing too much. When all's said and done, though, it's a decent romp that's brilliant when it's not bewildering – and when you consider the sheer amount of content included for the asking price, it's worth a punt.

    Resident Evil 5 is the best 2 Player coop game available to this day.

    Back when Resident Evil 5 was released it set the new standarts for    Resident Evil 5 is the best 2 Player coop game available to this day.

    Back when Resident Evil 5 was released it set the new standarts for great visuals and is even today one of the better looking games.
    The movement system stayed true to the amazing STAND+aim system which was introduced with Resident Evil 4.
    This system is what makes Resident Evil 4 and 5 special. The Shooting does not become a big unrealistic mess but ends up beeing what a survival horror shooter should be. The feeling of you trying to defend a big horde while having to fall back, trying to hit the headshots to kick staggering enemies just never was the same since resi 5.
    The story is also a real deal in the game, the pace is really well done and great cinematics are used regulary.
    And the most important aspect the overall atmosphere. The African setting is the best thing that happend to the Resident Evil series (excluding Resident Evil 4 setting which was even better). It is a mysterious place full of different areas to explore.

    I could tell you many more aspects why this game is my fav game till today but I will just end it here.

    But one last word: Play this game with a friend its meant to be played together dont be one of these people playing it alone and complaining about anything because they never had the chance to enjoy the real experience.

Yet I do understand why alot of people see this game as a negative turning point in the Resident Evil series, it still has alot of positive aspects aswell. The turning point in the series was Resident Evil 6 which was compelte garbage. Graphics are still good today. And they were great when this game was released. The horror aspect of this game is basically not existing but still .. it's one of the best action horror games to date. With one of the best villains in gaming history! The shop and upgrading system is fun and motivating aswell. Though I have to mention I never played this game alone, always in co-op.… Expand
