It might not be considered a breakthrough a couple of years down the line, but today Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is THE experience everyone should witness and a perfect example of what VR can and should do.

With more fear than most games in its menu sequence alone, this is a masterclass in frights. [Dec 2016, p.81]

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood represents cheap thrills for people prepared to let go and buy into the scares. If you can do that, this is one of the best games out there for PSVR. A short and linear light gun game but spectacular, scary and oh so satisfying.

A solid introduction to VR scares, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is a surreal and creepy experience that keeps you on the edge of the seat, though more could have been done to take horror games to the next level.

It's not a long game, but there are different routes to explore, and multiple difficulty settings with online leaderboards to entice you back. As with the main game, though, it's the jump scares that are the real stars here – and they help this likeable launch title live up to its name.

In this experiences theme park which is PlayStation VR there are better shows than this horror train mixed with shooting that is Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. If you keep up with its own low expectations and its average duration, it can be enjoyable yet scary, even more if you pay it with two PS Move controllers.

Rush of Blood can be completed in roughly an hour and a half, and though you can unlock a few alternate paths in a couple of levels, they generally lead to more of the same--just in a different arrangement. Rush of Blood has a disturbing flavor overall, but that alone can't save what amounts to a largely predictable experience filled with straightforward action, dumb enemies, and predictable frights.

I love it, my wife loves it, my son loves it (but won't play unless someone is in the room with him since he gets scared). I have let a couple neighbors try it...It's just awesome...I don't know what else to day honestly. It is not a long game by any means, but for 20 bucks, it is WELL worth the price of admission. I just finished the campaign and am ready to go back through again, but have been told by my son that it's his turn to play some more....anyway, if you get the VR, make sure to pick this one up as well. Thankfully its one of the best games available on the system right now and excellent value for money (I would happily have paid double the asking price for this). Great graphics and sound, perfectly executed horror and most importantly it's TONS OF FUN!

Simple but effective game play makes this not only a great introduction into VR but a great game in it's own right and with 7 massively enjoyable levels, loads of collectables, secrets and difficulty settings it will keep you coming back long after the first play-through. LOVED IT.

I look for the scariest movies I can find to watch alone by myself in the dark. For fun, since I don't scare easy.

But this game made me have to take breaks. Yes they are jump scares. But in VR it works so damn well. And this is by far one of my favorite VR games to date. All the decisions they made about the game work to its advantage. Roller Coaster cart makes for perfect sitting VR game. With the brilliant idea of having the player have to dodge and duck quickly to avoid deadly obstacles. Anyway only reason not to get this VR game is because you don't think you can handle the scares. Cause they are good and often.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is the most scary gaming experience I have since the generation of PS2.

The graph is among the best in PSVR games and combat design is very satisfying.

I have walked through the game like 3~4 times. One for collection and Another for the single-life hardest difficulty (trophy). It never get bored! Even if you know what may happen next, you are still afraid of dying from enemy's attack in the highest difficulty.

Does a great job transporting you to a different world where you actually feel it, i legit feel like I was at a carnival playing vr. Move controls goes great with thus apart from the arm fatigue. Pretty straightfoward vr game, you're on a roller coaster shooting enemies/ obstacles with dual weapons. Great vr experience, that you can't critique until you try for yourself! Legit one of the few games that actually instilled fear in me. Expand

This game is straight to the point, a horror game designed to make you tense and delivers on a lot of jumps scares.

I am glad my neighbours don't have kids as I have cursed very loudly playing this game. It is also great to watch a friend react to this too! Sitting in the cart looking are the guns in your hands feel really realistic with the Move controllers and because the track is mostly straight its easier on the stomach.

The main frustration with the game lies with the difficulty. I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to die that defeats the point but it should be easier. On many of the levels I died in the same place multiple times, you then have to relive the same jumps scariest and gruesome scenes, which is now just unpleasant and the initial scare is replaced with irritation. Particularly when friends try out a level they just give up at this point if they fail a few times because the adrenaline is lost and replaced with frustration.

Ultimately this is a fun ghost train that creates tension and fear throughout. VR obviously has good potential for horror and this delivers the cheap thrills.
