Although the core Uncharted titles might not do much for me, Fight for Fortune is a respectably entertaining title for players who enjoy the CCG genre. It might not have the same run-and-gun Nathan Drake is usually known for, but I'll take card combos and strategy over killing a thousand generic thugs and auto-climbing ledges any day.
Uncharted Fight For Fortune is a card game ideal for beginners and experts. There are some problems with the AI and online multiplayer, but it is able to provide lots of fun.
In a word: this game is awesome to play despite its numerous flaws, including a nefarious propensity to issue error "game contested" in online games. But the masterful recuperation of the Uncharted universe, the skillful conception of the game mechanics, and the addictive gameplay make for, in my opinion, one of the best games in Vita. The game has two main components: a campaign and a multiplayer setting. In the campaign you fight different opponents to unlock additional cards and various customization items. In multiplayer you confront rivals from around the world. Multiplayer games are less prone to errors if played continuously, that is, without leaving the match to perform other tasks. Being a card-based game, in theory this is possible but in practice you often do not complete your games. There is also an interesting component: you can unlock additional cards if, in your Vita system, you have saves of Uncharted Golden Abyss. While lately the online community mostly vanished - partly also because of the flawed multiplayer server - you can still play matches online if you're lucky. And, in the end, this review aims at stimulating gamers to go and try this awesome game, both offline but especially online.
Aside from an indefinite loading glitch that only occurs when you're logged into PSN, this is genuinely a fun Uncharted spin-off title with fairly easy trophies to obtain and plenty of cards and customizable items to collect. Whether you choose to spend 5 dollars for the base game or an extra 2 to 4 dollars for both DLC packs, I think it's well worth the price. Especially if you really like Uncharted and are open to playing something that's a little new to the series. Now where's my Uncharted kart racer?
Although it suffers from some inconsistent AI, spotty online matchmaking and some balancing problems created by Golden Abyss-centric augments, it's still hard to deny that Uncharted: Fight For Fortune is a fun game.
Fight for Fortune isn't broken, despite the odd decision to let another game's completion percentage determine your power. As a portable game, it lends itself well to the Vita's on-and-off capability. Still, if you don't like card-battling games, you won't enjoy a second of this, because that's all it is.
I applaud the effort of making this type of game on the Vita because I want to see more in this genre, but I can't blatantly support a game that's not very much fun to play.
$5? I will take it! And I enjoy it! This game is very fun. The concept of the game is hard to learn at first but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a strategic game, and I like that. Alot! The campaign is fun, but its kinda dumb how you have to beat every person 5 times to unlock everything from that person. Other than that the multiplayer isn't as good as I thought it would be because you have 2 days to make a move. The multiplayer is similar to playing words with friends, you never know when they will make their move
PROS: Fun game, strategic, and a nice addition to the uncharted series for $5
CONS: have to beat each person 5 times to fully complete game, multiplayer isn't what it should be, and DLC packs cost $3 each
This game is a great value at $5. Small learning curve and still a complex game at times. The AI leaves something to be desired, as some battles are won simply by the enemy's incorrect response (or lack of one). Still, for 5 bucks you can overlook these small imperfections and enjoy the game for what it is.
A simple yet fun to play card game spin-off from the Uncharted universe. As it is fun in the beginning, later on you have the feeling it could be a bit more refined and a bit more difficult.
Instead of prejudgement, just try this game. It has an easy (about 30-60 minutes) learning curve but the game itself is really deep. There are hundreds of cards and the game itself is very open for strategies.
Great game for a great price.
Uncharted: Fight for Fortune is a stopgap title that's designed to bolster the PlayStation Vita's limited line-up, and it's a decent idea when taken on its own merits. Unfortunately, the slow pacing and stripped back presentation make it an acquired taste, and a somewhat strange addition to Naughty Dog's otherwise flamboyant franchise.
