Finished the game 5 times and i think its a really great game. Its actually kinda scary. The game is only 2 hours but it feels like a lot longer. I didnt find any game breaking glitches, i mean i did find 1 but thats 1 that you gotta do intentionally. I really like the little details and the main character "Mommy Long Legs" is also pritty fun and the end chase is really fun and scary.
The game honestly looked okay when it first released, but at this point it is just bad. I'm not going to go over the old controversy because that's pretty much over at this point, but I am going to point out the many stupid things the company behind this game has done and is continuing to do today.
First of all, Mob Games treats Poppy Playtime like it's the biggest franchise ever, and they've only got TWO games. Ever since the first "demo" dropped, the company announced a movie, started endlessly dropping merch, and, of course, did NFTs. In addition to this, all the things they're selling are at ABSURD prices, like seriously, who wants to buy a $70 Huggy plushie? This all shows that Mob Games either wants big cash, or is desperately trying to keep their game alive before it dies. And speaking of the game, the game itself isn't that good. The chase sequence in the first chapter was what got everyone hooked, but everything else is completely uninspired.
Scary toys possessed by dead people? FNAF.
Abandoned location where everyone dissapeared? Bendy and the Ink Machine.
Chapter-based series and puzzle-game layout with chase at the end? Bendy and the Ink Machine.
Lore hidden everywhere so GT can make a vid on it? FNAF.
The whole "kids stuff but creepy" topic? LITERALLY EVERY GAME THAT COPIED FNAF.
In short, the game is just another wanna-be FNAF that got trendy because of the same old tactic. The developers (or some of them) are attempting to keep their game from dying by marketing as much as possible, something that I feel will backfire on them and make their game die quicker. If they change their ways, who knows? I could play chapter 3. But at the rate it's going, I bet all we're gonna get is a $50 chapter 3 with 50 new merch drops. *sigh*
