Players are tasked with completing 14 unique, realistic international single-player missions, including Chile, which is a unique AO only available in the PSP release. As the SEAL commander, the player is supported by an AI teammate executing traditional SOCOM team-based tactical, stealth and action gameplay. After successfully completing a level, players can replay the mission in an entirely new way through the "Instant Action" option, with different objectives, enemy and object placement. In addition, multiple players are able to form clans and take on their friends for team based high-action gameplay in SOCOM Fireteam Bravo via a Wi-Fi connection. [SCEA] Expand

  1. The real 'Must-Have' game of the year for anyone who owns a PSP. It’s single-player game will steal your heart but it’s the perfect multiplayer mode that will steal your soul.
  2. Zipper Interactive managed to create very smooth, simple controls for a unit without a second analog nub (a minor miracle), and brought along all the SOCOM visual treats and gameplay nuances that fans of the genre crave, and the PSP enabled them to do this all in style.
  3. The game offers hard-hitting offline and online gameplay, impressive map sizes, and a pleasantly intuitive shooter interface, all while maintaining the feel and intensity of combat that is so familiar to fans of SOCOM.
  4. If it wasn't for the stupid AI and clunky movement and weapon selecting, this would be a far better game for solo players, but online is very good and will likely reside as the top PSP online game for a long time.
  5. The console and portable SOCOMs may look the same, but like the Olsen twins, they're different enough that you won't be satisfied with just one.

Everything that made SOCOM one of the PS2’s few standout online multiplayer games has been wrapped in a streamlined package for PSP.
  7. SOCOM PSP is a simple, varied, and well put together game that works very well on Sony's handheld.

It could have been better by making it easier to unlock the players and guns but other than that the game is perfect I give it a whoppin 9.

They'd probably feel super awkward for very new players, and I get how they might be a major turn off. All the levels are very fun to play through, and you can mostly play them however you want. There are some unlockables that you can only get through porting over data from SOCOM 3, which, on paper is a very neat idea, but it doesn't execute well because I don't think most people have a copy of SOCOM 3 on a PS2, or, simply own a PS2 in 2021. Even then, the process of porting over data is very annoying, I don't think it even works anymore. You'd be better off downloading a 100% save file for this game and restarting the campaign, because then, and only then, you will have all the weapons (Which you should have from the start). There are some annoying levels here and there, but even those annoying levels aren't bad, just restarting them over and over to get a 100% on those specific levels can be annoying, and it's mostly the process of trying to 100% the game that is annoying. If you aren't doing that, you'll most very likely have a better time.

TLDR: SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo is a fun experience throughout, but the controls haven't aged quite well.
