First expansion to the main game Quake. If you loved playing that game you are definitely going to love playing this first expansion. It's a must-play.

Both of the original Quake's mission packs are amazing and worth playing. This and Dissolution of Eternity are better than the last act of Quake with larger, brighter environments, improved map design and new gameplay mechanics (most notably new ammo types). These mission packs are probably the best game in the Quake series and sadly seem to be overlooked.

A mission pack for Quake with new levels, weapons, monsters, and music. I was very impressed with the architecture of the levels, the music, and found the difficulty to be just right. The new weapons and monsters were also good, although the final boss was unfortunately a little too simple. Nevertheless, a must-play for fans of old-school Quake. IMPORTANT: This mission pack is now included for free with Quake!

Quake's first Mission Pack provides plenty of action for returning fans, plus new enemies, and new weapons. Still retaining the tight controls and fast action. Though there are multiple parts, unlike Quake you have to play through each one in order, which **** that you lose the ability to go right to your favorite episode, though story-wise I suppose it makes sense.

I gave Mission Pack No. 2 a '10' score, and this one a '6'.
I grew older and decided to refinish Quake 1 single player for the nostalgia. Also for the first time, I played Quake Mission Packs 1 and 2. I completed both within 2 days, so I'm able to compare the two.
The difference between Mission Pack 1 and 2 is stark. I found out that they were created by different companies (Hipnotic and then Rogue or something).
I got lost in some Mission Pack 1 maps, some of which also feel like they were created by the modder community (lower quality than what you'd expect from ID Software).
Mission Pack 2 has a much better quality (maybe even on par with ID Software). I did not get lost too easily even in its "Maze" map. It gave me more run-and-shoot satisfaction.
If you were to pick which Mission Pack, I highly suggest #2. However, if you have time to refinish Quake for the nostalgia factor, do them all.

Good little expansion pack with more enemies to fight and new weapons to choose from. Gameplay is the exact same though.
