Not only is Samurai Warriors 5 the best-feeling game in the franchise to date, but it's also the best-looking too. The character roster features a mostly returning cast with some new additions, but even the older additions have been given a whole new design to fit the new ink-brush aesthetic. Some of the visual presentations haven't changed such as the stiff dialogue scenes making a return, but when in the thick of it, the Samurai Warriors franchise has never looked better.
I have played the very first Samurai warriors game on the PS2. This is a new upgrade and style of gameplay that has smoother moves and excellent storyline. Brings back the original motives of the very first game, which the other SW2 until SW4 has been somewhat downgraded.
Whether you’re a series fan or a newcomer, there’s a lot to like about Samurai Warriors 5. This is without a doubt the best Samurai Warriors game yet, with a more engaging story, deeper gameplay, and luscious visuals. As ever, there are tens of hours of fun to be had, with repetition staved off that bit longer thanks to the new gameplay additions. And with a friend in tow, everything just becomes more chaotic and fun. Forget about the reduced character roster; if you love Musou games, consider this a must-have.
A very, very traditional musô ... but nevertheless successful. Admittedly, its cel-shadding remains an obvious make-up for a dated technique, but it also causes a reinforced Japanese atmosphere and some appreciable graphic effects; Likewise, the repetitiveness of its missions is an obvious black point but is compensated by a diversity of characters and interesting gameplay, and this despite the criticized reduction of its cast.
Samurai Warriors 5 is a game of reductions. In its move to reboot the series it seemingly has gone back to providing as much content as the first entry. A cynic may say they'll likely slowly start to reintroduce these established features like they're new innovations. Innovation… It's insane that while Omega Force continues to do just that. To innovate. To deliver. But only with titles it produced for other people's franchises. When it comes to its own franchises, frankly, the developer is going backwards. Following the disappointment of what Dynasty Warriors became, Samurai Warriors has now joined the club as a shadow of its former self.
it's really very well made and refreshing, i can't stop playing since i bought it, i really needed game like this, thank you for this amazing game, the only thing i don't like the artstyle, very colourful, but it's okay, the game is so much fun..
The story and cutscenes are beautiful and the gameplay is very polished. The combat feels better then any mosou before. The draw back is the likeness of each character how they play very similar to each other. Besides that its an amazing mosou game i recommend it.
I'm glad I didn't purchase this game or even know this game exist until my friend told me that this game is the most acceptable musou game nowadays.
Gameplay-wise, yes its good and fun which is the true color of musou game but that's it.
Characters not too many, story: tried to understand it but no longer care after reaching chapter 3 as its completely different between the cutscene the the brief story that was shown on the loading screen so, it's a complete mess-up.
Well I kind of skeptic with musou-game nowadays and I still do with this game so I think you don't need to spend 50-60$ for this game as its not worth that much. Just wait for sale if you still eager to try this game or even borrow from a friend which I did.
this is a hack and slash game, but the developer made the weapons in this game are cloning, it's very bad. and for character combos made almost the same. the characters in this game are few, should be made different for the weapon to be unique.
