Silver Falls Episode Prelude offers an intense and atmospheric introduction to the world of Silver Falls, in a concise narrative game with some bonus battle content on top.
Silver Falls: Episode Prelude was the series' debut in HD. It's a short, bite-sized horror adventure that serves as a teaser of sorts of what Silver Falls has in store for the Switch. You play as Rominic, a delivery driver who is delivering fried chicken to a customer but finds the property mysteriously abandoned. As he tries to make his delivery and ensure the customer's well-being, he's attacked by strange creatures. The game ends on a cliffhanger since there is a sequel planned, but in my opinion, the real fun comes from the battle mode where you fight waves of enemies to try for a high score. It's not trying to be the next Outlast or Resident Evil 4, so don't expect that, but for the budget price and for being created entirely by one man, it's a pretty solid product here. I definitely recommend this to any horror fans who play Switch.
What makes a great game is replay value and this game has it! I have been a big video game fan for a long time. However, I feel most video games are streamlined nowadays to cater to the masses. This is rather unfortunate. Games like Pokémon, Fallout and Resident Evil are victims of this. They are my favorite AAA games.
That is what makes Silver Falls so special. This game is a love letter to anyone who enjoys discovering new mechanics and lore within gameplay. The developers of this game are so talented. I wish there were more people like this in the industry. Pokémon Sword/Shield for the Switch were pretty bare bones considering there was 100’s of people working on them and cost $60. Silver Falls Episode Prelude is only $7 and well worth it. Sungrand is not greedy and keeps the price low so people can enjoy it. Silver Falls is made with so much passion and integrity. I am a huge fan of Silver Falls 3 Down Stars for the DS. The performance and graphics in this game are superb. Story Mode and Battle Mode are great casual fun. I am eager to see what Sungrand the Developer makes next. I am sure it will not disappoint.
Having played the 3DS version religiously & as well as being blown away by the graphics that the developers managed to put into the game, I was super excited to play episode prelude for the switch.
Episode prelude doesn’t disappoint. Graphically, moving to the switch is a massive overhaul & looks right at home with its high poly models & dynamic lighting. The game stays true to the original whilst also feeling fresh & new. The team have done a great job bringing to life a 3DS version of their game. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but if you have played the 3DS version & would like to revisit the town & all of its quirks & spooks then definitely pick this up. £7.99 (UK pricing) is such a small price to pay for hours of enjoyment in a town that is full of lore & dangers. You will also be directly supporting indie developers, and in the ever approaching world of 64.99 + games, indie devs are definitely going to be the way forward. Well done team. A great addition to the switch library :)
Great game, what can be said? It’s reminiscent of silent hills and resident evil, horror and gameplay wise (with smoother graphics and gameplay). Played the 3ds game and loved it. That being said some of the animations are a bit rough but with an update fixing them on the way it’s no problem. There’s tons of lore to research, and learn with 3 games out across the gameboy color, 3ds, and switch. It’s beautiful with a few Easter eggs that can be found around the game. And for $15 or so it’s a steal!
I've played dozens of survival horror games and love the genre. If you want creepy environments and creepy, subtle hints at UFO abductions, I think you'll like this. The graphics are detailed, especially the lighting. Some of the character animations are a little clunky and there some funny visual glitches but the developer said they're working on an update to fix those things. There's a lot of story and lore to sift through. It's got a lot of connections to the other games in the series too. Story mode is short but battle mode has a ton of weapons and skills. Hours of pretty casual fun in battle mode.
This is an original close encounters ufo story. The gameplay in story mode is like late 90's survival horror that said it's short but left me with some nice moments of atmospheric music and exploration. After beating the scenerio there is a battle game included too with alternative maps, hidden unlockables and bonus weapons. For about $8 it's a nice little edition to the Switch and shows great promise in future titles.
What a mess!! This game is clonky-town. The reviews above are the devs or there friends/employees. It’s all a scam. One of them even used the word total perfection!!??What??!! Look at the date ...all at the same day and high ratings. The control button scheme is a total mess. The way the character runs is bad. There’s no purpose at all , just to deliver a bag and then your lost in a pool of what the heck I’m gonna do. The boss texting you each minute is the most annoying and unnecessary thing I’ve ever seen. This game is pretty bad a total failure. I don’t think I will finish it. Don’t buy.
