Hollow is a good horror game inspired by great games like Alien: Isolation and Resident Evil Revelations. However, the game sins by executing mechanics like melee combat, for example. Although the graphics are excellent and it has an excellent atmosphere, the weird movement of the enemies makes the game look odd at times. The game is frightening at times when you walk alone on the ship listening to voices succumbing to the dark, you do get some scares, but it is not frequent. The gameplay is within the standards of the current horror games. Despite its problems, Hollow is a highly recommended game for horror fans and games like Resident Evil Revelations and Alien: Isolation.

A horror game with good ideas that comes up short in many aspects: while its history is addictive and progressively improves, its short duration brings us back to reality, and while its setting and sound put us in a tense mood with some jump scares mixed in, its technical side takes us out of that mood with a significant range of defects to be cleaned up.

Hollow could have gone further and cemented itself as a good proposal in the growing horror genre within the Nintendo Switch and it gets the ambiance right, including the good use of sound effects. It does not succeed at all it could, unfortunately, as its heavy and cumbersome gameplay, losses of fluidity and several technical issues end up plaguing the experience, whose plot is also too generic and unremarkable to make this a memorable horror game.

Hollow is an incredibly ugly game with the kind of plentiful technical issues that make it actively difficult to play. Those with a masochistic streak might derive some pleasure from its abrasiveness and its downbeat tone, but most Switch-owning horror fans would be much better served playing through Resident Evil Revelations and its sequel for the umpteenth time.

As far as space-set survival horror games go, Hollow sets the standard for a new low.

Hollow, as a game, is an effective horror experience plagued by some poor goal communication with the player. It has clear issues but at its core, Hollow is a technically impressive game built on generally good gameplay. As a port to Switch, this game is unfortunately an abysmal mess.

It's a B-grade Dead Space clone that follows the "rules" of horror without actually understanding any of them. Sure, it's a good thing that developers want to continue that "horror in space" tradition of Dead Space, but this team simply wasn't up to the task. On any level.

It wanted to be sexual for some reason with naked alien zombie women, combat is clunky but ok I guess, the game just looks ugly, UI is terrible, and the cutscenes don't work. Stay away from this game and buy something else. p.s. These positive reviews are lookin' kind sus......................................... [My Gameplay Experience] Hollow is a first-person, sci-fi, survival horror game where you take control of a space delivery man who has just boarded a seemingly empty vessel. Dazed and confused you embark to find someone who can tell you what is going on and why everyone seems to be missing. You end up finding a radio. You pick it up. After wandering around for a bit you encounter your first jumpscare! This won't be your last. I crouch under some crates and continue forth to the main power room. At this point, I'm hearing noises and I'm genuinely getting a bit unsettled. I turn on the power which (you guessed it) just so happens to be a jumpscare. I then go to the control room and wander around there for a bit before noticing a note telling me what I should do. "Hollow. Follow my instructions". I kick a generator and somehow turn it on. I then find a gun (?) and I proceed to scare myself by shooting the gun which I swear is louder than the actual game's audio. I encounter my first enemy. A naked woman with knives for feet. I shoot her a few times and she disintegrates into oblivion as I see her corpse glitch and stretch out. I walk to the room in front of me and I am greeted by another woman who's pinned on the wall next to a gore display. I'm starting to sense an unsettling trend here. I wander into a few more corridors and there's another human. The camera tells me this by controlling the camera into awkward positions then suddenly snaps back to me. I continue and then I'm met with more naked monster women who proceed to gang up on me. While this is happening a cutscene happens and I'm still taking damage. I die mid cutscene and I get booted to the title screen. Then my game crashes. What the **** just happened. [My Thoughts] I will admit, I was hyped for this game when I saw it on the store but oh my god I was in for one hell of a disappointment. The game looks ugly, there is a weird blur, walking feels off, and it just feels bad. Combat is pretty fun, I think. I do understand what they were trying to do but they somehow managed to do everything wrong. I only managed to see one enemy design and those were the naked women monsters. To me, they got inspiration from Dead Space which is ok but they did something rather... strange. It seems like they were trying to be sexual but since it's a horror game it gives off a very creepy and disturbing vibe. This is in no way a compliment to the game. I am saying the designers are either closet necrophiliacs or they want us to somehow get aroused from shooting naked zombie alien women. Both of which are disturbing thoughts. It's not a good game. It had potential to be something great but it just flopped like an old pile of tripe being blasted off into space. Doesn't make sense? Exactly. P.S. Whoever you are character designer, get help Expand

The only redeeming quality of this game, and sadly the driving method for my playtime, were the 5 images that I collected over the course of the game that was the result of a half-assed idea of an easter egg hunt that ended up more interesting than the actual game. These images, on the other hand, were more full-ass (in the sense of naked women) and I can say their quality was better than the entire game altogether. Thank you for putting this game on sale for the $0.99 that it cost me, I would not have thought of purchasing this otherwise. You provided a game that I could only play with my friends who would similarly only wait for the next moment I found **** left behind on an abandoned spaceship full of creepy "Toy Story 2"-esque naked women who wanted to eat me.
