One notion underlying Shalini Kantayya’s winning documentary, Catching the Sun, is that solar power is not only a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels but can also effectively curtail unemployment.
Liberals and conservatives both make appearances, as do people of color and international activists. If we would only all work together, the film seems to suggest, we could enact a green revolution of global proportions.
Shalini Kantayya's debut documentary feature never stays in any one place long enough to make a sufficient impact.
