Like its thematic companion, Orlowski’s 2012 doc on melting glaciers "Chasing Ice," the sober and urgent Chasing Coral is thankfully far from discouraging. Instead it’s a motivating wake-up call that makes one want to drop everything and join the onscreen crew, rebelling against today’s political priorities

Some of the most stunning footage I've ever seen. A truly moving and harrowing experience. I've never been so motivated to fighting climate change as I was by the end of this film. If only it weren't for that painful Kristen Bell song during the credits. This film was so deftly crafted otherwise.

Even for those limited to swimming virtually among parrot fish and sea turtles over vast marine ecosystems of astonishing color and complexity, this superbly crafted documentary is likely to wield an unexpected emotional charge.

You walk out of Chasing Coral feeling that Richard Vevers is correct: The more that people see, and understand, the death of our coral, the more they’ll realize that climate change isn’t just about wrecking the planet, it’s about humanity destroying itself.

Chasing Coral has a cogent, timely argument to make — and, crucially, it’s an argument that demands visual presentation. For once, reading a book or in-depth article on the subject wouldn’t be remotely as persuasive (except perhaps regarding the question of whether human activity is primarily responsible). If your eyes work, your heart will sink.

While it does pay beyond fair deference to the science behind coral reefs and their devastation, its real strength lies within the pathos generated by the visuals that showcase the exact nature of their precarious state.

Really wasn´t convinced about this documentary. Some beautiful and sharp pictures but i didn´t like the way they compiled it. But it´s an important subject and Netflix´s reach can help a lot

As good as the visuals are, other documentaries have already done this multiple times & implemented it even better. It's just not as effective or empowering as Planet Earth, Blue Planet or even Cosmos...
