Up 'til now, it's been a serious show that happened to be funny. In Season 3, the formula flips: Dear White People is a very funny show with serious stories to tell, and it's more enjoyable than ever.

This show triggers all the right people. Look at the types of trash calling the show racist. They are the lowest form of life.

SEASON 3
“Dear White People” Season 3 builds very well on its core goodness — if you enjoyed past seasons, you’ll continue to enjoy this one. The developing relationships are surprising and honest; the dialogue is sharp; the direction is inventive. The gripes to be had with the new episodes are only in comparison to what’s come before, which are near-perfect seasons of TV.
Some subplots and characters get lost along the way, but here, too, there are gems of dialogue and performance and a breakout performance by a new cast member, Griffin Michaels, who plays D’unte. ... This might be a train wreck of a season in some ways, but it’s a glorious one, spilling food for thought everywhere.
These episodes offer a boggle of slightly underdeveloped narrative arcs. Although they comprise a varying and empathetic portrait of millennial anxiety, season three falls short of the show’s benchmark for narrative tension.
In the balance, Dear White People continues to be a show well worth seeking out and that's especially true if you haven't even started it. But the third season still stands as a minor disappointment.
Dear White People has never had a problem with an availability of interesting, solid characters, and this season is no exception. The breakdown lies in the show’s ability to push forward their individual journeys in a manner that doesn’t come off like a free-for-all, but rather like an actual development.
Loved this show for a long time. This season is no different. Required viewing.

Why is this show still here? It's exploration of important topics allows for an interesting enough excursion into systemic racism, sexuality and colorism.

I absolutely loved season 2 and I really enjoyed season 1, but too many things went wrong this season for me to praise it this time. The structure of the show has gone from only exploring a single character's perspective for a full episode to sort of focusing on one character while still showing us what other characters are doing. I think this is a complete downgrade. Aside from that, the show has gotten worse in a multitude of ways like reusing jokes, questionable use of time for each episode being used on insignificant characters, plot threads that are weirdly dropped, and a lack of a climax. The plot point with Troy was completely unimpressive considering how that group was constantly brushed aside this season. Not everything is negative about this season though. There are some good things present here like how the show deals with STIs, unions, and abuse of power by higher-ups. The acting is also as good as it can be with how the script was. Ultimately I feel like this season was a failure, but only in the context of being a follow up to the masterpiece that was season 2. If you watch this season, then my recommendation is to go into it with your expectations lowered.
