Fun turn-based RPG revolves around the shooting of the 90-ties heroic series. The game is full of interesting ideas and small funny things, thanks to that the game looks very fresh, although otherwise it uses traditional scheme of RPG games.
Fantastic and must have if you want to make your childhood returns.
+ The pixel art is very good.
+ Their soundtracks are also great.
+ Conversations in the game is really great. the humor of the game is really well placed.
+ MORE BUCKET HELMET PLEASE!!!
That's a wonderful game based in most attractive part of many childhoods! It's too fun than I can explain! The graphics, music, the jokes, it's all too good thinking to be a best game ever made on this genre! This game is a bag of fun, if like to laugh that's the game for you!
Chroma Squad is terrifically enjoyable. Fans of tactical RPGs will have oodles of fun, and those who also look fondly upon the youthful days of the Power Rangers will get an extra kick.
Chroma Squad scratches both my nostalgia and strategy RPG itch in places that have long been left unscratched, and it’s a game I hope Behold Studios has plans to make more of.
Fairly superficial gameplay and recycled ideas hamper Chroma Squad. The game is saved, however, by tongue-in-cheek writing and an excellent premise. Chroma Squad definitely won’t set the pond on fire but is still enjoyable.
How did such an attractive subject turn out so boring? The tactical component is almost as basic as it gets and the studio management has the depth of a mobile game. [07/2015, p.62]
The game is a wonderful journey through the best of the decade of 1990. intelligent, cute, funny, with excellent mechanical .... With Recomendadissimo sure!
Chroma Squad is rather repetitive, sometimes boring, but it knows how to keep you close with one of the most amazingly awesome stories has ever been created.
Nice idea for a small turn per turn tactical game, it's fun to craft stuff for your "actors"; the humor is compelling. That said, the gameplay feels far too repetitive after a couple and hours.
3 = didn't like
5 = was ok
7 = liked
9 = loved
ok people the game and inspired even in Power Rangers only the graphics are beautiful but boring ta 8-bit pixel art version and also why the game and tactical and that the genre I hate most of the games
This game uses the "doge" meme multiple times. The dialogue makes repeated uses of smileys. Enemies sometimes exclaim "This is so OP" when being hit.
If this isn't enough to warrant never touching it, you'll be pleased to know that the gameplay consists of one of the most shallow SRPG systems ever created. The parts where the rangers fight in a mech are basically 10 minute long QTEs (with one type of QTE, (namely "stop the slider"), a crafting system that heavily depends on RNG (in a game where you can't replay levels, so if you don't get the component you need you're forced to give up or save scum) and plenty of bugs.
Also did I mention it was released in 2015 and uses the "doge" meme multiple times?
SummaryChroma Squad is a tactical RPG about five stunt actors who decide to quit their jobs and start their own Power Rangers-inspired TV show! Cast actors, purchase equipment and upgrades for your studio, craft weapons, and build giant Mechas out of cardboard and duct tape. Once the cameras are rolling, control your cast of five colored-jumpsu...
