Ultimately, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an odd combination between Skyrim, Elden Ring, and Tears of the Kingdom that scratches a very unique itch. It might not be for everyone, but it’s certainly for someone, and it’ll be exciting to see what kind of DLC Capcom have planned for it.
Dragon's Dogma 2 feels like the first proper RPG I've played in years. Its world is captivating, filled with stories both told and waiting to be found. This is a must-play for RPG fans who've grown tired of the hand-holding nature of modern games and just want to get lost somewhere magical and quite frankly, brutal as hell.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is a must-have game for RPG players who want to experience a real exciting adventure. Capcom has managed to bring us the sequel the series deserves, in all its glory.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is exactly what veterans will be expecting, as double-edged as that may be, but there's simply no other action RPG experience like it.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 features good graphics, an extremely comprehensive character creation system, and highly enjoyable gameplay. Its issues do not diminish the experience, which deserves to be praised.
It walks a tightrope of intrigue that balances quirky systems, fun combat and obscure secrets with frustrating circumstances, weird world-building and curious design choices, and somehow manages to make it across, and if you embrace all it has to offer, you might too.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is outwardly hostile to its audience, embracing everything that made the original such a hassle to enjoy. A game designed with the purpose of wasting a player’s time, which makes Capcom’s “time saver” microtransactions all the more sickening. It’s a glorified xerox that you will adore if you believe Dragon’s Dogma was literally perfect when it released in 2012 and absolutely none of the progress within games development in the past twelve years meant one fucking thing. Indeed, if your idea of a good time is having a terrible time, you’ll love this malignant resurrection of ideas and implementations that should have stayed long dead.
The game is truly amazing, and I find it puzzling when people give it low ratings and complain about microtransactions. The quests are intricately detailed, making for an engaging experience. Exploring the world is fascinating, and I particularly enjoy the preparation aspect before venturing into the open world. The combat system is captivating, with each class offering a unique gameplay experience.
One drawback I've noticed is that the game was developed using an engine that isn't ideally suited for it, resulting in FPS drops when entering cities or villages.
Regarding microtransactions, they don't detract from the game's quality. Firstly, I fail to see why some people overlook similar donation features in other games from the same company, such as Resident Evil or Devil May Cry. Secondly, donations are entirely optional, and the game provides ample resources even without them.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is still the same game with visual upgrades.
A bland open world game with lack of variety in enemy which was still the problem in this title.
Still the solid RPG element that can make you enjoy this game the same way you did with the previous game, the way you build characters unlock a new skill for the class you chose etc.
In my opinion you can play the previous Dragon's Dogma and it can give you the same experience.
I couldn't stand for more than 6 hours and I tried. It looks like an early PS4 game and feels like a PS3 game. I didn't play DD1, but I heard about gameplay feels very similar. C'mon a 2024 game be like a 2011 game is outrageous!
This is the last japanese game that I played (except for a few platform like Mario and JRPGs). They seems to be stopped at 2000's in game development. Such a pity!
