EA Sports PGA Tour celebrates a successful comeback. Thanks to frostbite-engine, the game looks really good and delivers great tactical depth on the green. Career, Multiplayer and Challenge deliver a good amount of content, but lack a bit on the presentation-side.
I've played a bit everyday since launch and it gets better every time. As a golf lover, I wish every game gives me all that fun and challenge. Gorgeous, balanced and with an incredible technical approach.
EA Sports PGA Tour proves what the publisher is capable of at its pomp: this is a jaw-droppingly beautiful sports game, with a sublime selection of licensed courses and a surprising amount of depth. Its demanding swing mechanic is slightly let down by a sluggish frame rate, but its single player is boosted by a strong sense of progression – and in multiplayer there’s tons to do. This is an impressively strong effort overall, and a sign of good things to come ahead of the company’s other anticipated comeback, EA Sports College Football.
EA Sports PGA Tour is beautiful, fun and has plenty of game modes for you to try, both online and offline. But it can be a little tough for newcomers to the sports. All things considered, though, it’s a successful comeback from EA Sports’ golf series.
After almost a decade away from the sport, EA's return to the golf course is a promising one. The range of shot types, courses, and tangible variables make for a methodical and tactical game of golf that's both challenging and rewarding. It stumbles by barely introducing players to its robust mechanics, while a laggy swing and inconsistent putting are notable flaws on what is otherwise a fantastic golf sim. EA Sports PGA Tour represents a solid re-entry for the series and lays down a sturdy foundation for an auspicious future.
Between the lack of personality, inconsistent aesthetics, physics that, accurate or not, look broken, and cynical always online requirements, EA Sports PGA Tour gets just about everything wrong. I found myself jumping right back to Easy Come, Easy Golf almost immediately. Sure, it’s not the most realistic golf game out there, but at least it has fun with the sport and I’m not booted from the game after every other hole. EA’s dour, miserable effort is the “you must be fun at parties” joke/insult manifested as a sports game.
Great game. Don’t understand the hate. Love this game.. difficultly level progression perfect. Loads of content that to me does not appear to me trying to take my money which in fairness is a trend in most EA Games. Competitive and tournament mode very fun. More realistic than 2k. Love the the shot Types.
Pretty Graphics inferior gameplay to PGA 2k23. Glad they added a 60fps mode but the 60fps mode is better looking on 2k. Buy PGA2k23, better gameplay and an endless amount of custom user created courses and online rankings
I’m really enjoying this game. Career mode is solid. Graphics are very impressive. Lacks some depth in customization of golfer and no course creator but not too shabby for their first game in awhile. Like I said I really like the game but for $70 I can’t recommend unless you’re a huge fan of golf games.
What a disappointment. One of the most beautiful sports games I have ever seen but the user experience is terrible. I just started the 2K23 golf game a month before this and had so much fun with that game right from the beginning. This game has been nothing but frustration and the mechanics feel so sloppy. I requested a refund so hopefully I can get my money back. Stay away for now or at least until many many patches come through AND the game goes on sale.
Poor character customization
Poor Private match customization
Looks alright but some courses look dog
Ball seems to go anywhere but where you want it to go even with perfect swing Over sized ducks
Why does my character keep smiling like that it's creeping me out?
EA have done it again yet mugs like me still seem to pay top prices for below par games. Genuinely thought a new official EA PGA Tour game on Playstation 5 would be immense but it's shockingly disappointing
