The year of development shaped Rise of Kunark into an admirable expansion. Even though PVP content is largely ignored and midrange characters will level elsewhere, it's apparent that SOE's finally hatched an add-on that puts a shine on the entire game.
Everquest 2: Rise of Kunark has a lot of welcome content for new players and veterans alike, and while the game may not rival WoW in terms of player numbers, what it does do is really bring the new and old worlds of Everquest 2 and Everquest together into a new seamless package that is going to have a lot of appeal to a lot of people.
As with the previous expansions, there's nothing here that will convince you the EverQuest II is worth playing if you've already decided to pass on it. But for players who are looking to extend the life of a game they already love, Kunark offers lots of amazing diversions.
Strangers to the series interested in a new MMO won’t be as impressed with new updates and content as a seasoned EQII veteran, and will be offset by EQII’s dated appearance and design. However, EQII fans can’t go wrong with Rise of Kunark as it’s by far the best one yet.
