Everything from the central character being a lich to the obviously similar graphics pays homage to Warcraft.
While it doesn't overhaul the genre entirely, the new additions present in Lich Defense enable it to stand out from the crowd. It's just a shame that so much content remains locked behind a an in-app purchase pay wall.
It's a solid Tower Defense game with a hook that just might be different enough to interest anyone burned out on the genre.
The soundtrack is also pretty cool and epic sounding. A little cut-and-paste with the production, but nice to listen to.
