  • Summary: Book of Demons is a Hack & Slash Deck-building hybrid in which YOU decide the length of quests. Wield magic cards instead of weapons and slay the armies of darkness in the dungeons below the Old Cathedral. Save the terror-stricken Paperverse from the clutches of the Archdemon himself.

Book of Demons is a hidden gem, taking some of the best elements from action RPGs like Diablo and Path of Exile. It maintains its unique paper cut-out style, while providing a fun and intriguing equipment and advancement system.

Book of Demons introduces a unique card-based skill system and a sense of humor to the stuck-in-its-ways ARPG genre. It has plenty of tricks in its dungeon to keep you on your toes, but gives you ample ways to form your own strategy. With three distinct classes and an endlessly replayable quest, you can get lost in Book of Demons’ papercut dungeon for quite a while.

Although I was initially unsure about it, Book of Demons turned into another pleasant indie surprise. It’s beautifully stylized, you can easily adjust its scope to fit your schedule and the challenge is appropriately set.

A nice hack and slash game with the beautiful art style and solid combat. But the card system doesn't balance decently and it makes the long-term experience boring.

Book of Demons is a fun romp, though it’s not as engrossing and captivating as other, more "serious" action/RPGs.

Delightful, fun, quirky -- Book of Demons keeps you entertained as it provides a unique take on what Diablo and the ARPG genre provides. Unfortunately, it also becomes repetitive and aimless towards the end.

Book of Demons is a beautiful roguelite dungeon crawler with enemy variety and a plethora of interesting systems built upon a sheer lack of player-side input. A decent time waster, but difficult to recommend at launch prices.

I can play the game for hours straight or only 20 mins and still feel like I've progressed and achieved something. I always keep coming back to it regardless of what else I'm playing. I cant wait to see what other games they will add to the collection in the future. I even purchased the Supporters Pack as soon as it was available, small companies like this with a great vision as theirs need all our support! Expand

But there can be more classes to play with, artifacts drains mana, yes they wanted make it harder and not that easy. I aprecciate that. Dungeons ale very good, filled with variants of monsters and you can even choose how long you want to play... Interesting systems there. And Npcs have interesting story, good to listen and read. Even that Sage have Deckards Caine voice from Diablo , good idea of developers. So many bosses there, each one is somehow unique. And all of the enemies are not just typical same, and boring. Each have own system to fight. Very enjoyable. There are even a peace of humour there, just like one of the most achievements. Especially that one with a crows, singing to the winter. Good point. Little challenging to find out how to obtain it. Click in the correct order. But, if you concentrate you can make it. There is option to finish level on the 100 % what is big plus for me. You can the be rewarded with bonus points after complete stages. Good satisfying feeling. Not just card game, cards are just spells to use, like items. Interesting option from developers. But good..... In the hell are brand new enemies. Very challening. it can be seen that the developers did not fool the game and added a lot of detail. Each enemy has a description of what is a big plus, and it adds the right feeling to the game and draws you more into the story. Its well based with how you pass levels, game become harder and harder. Bosses are thougher, new types of enemies appears, just like good old games. But this game is sure not old game. It have new look and pretty different look to other card games. Card RPG dungeon game like this, is great. Im giving high rating, like 9,2 Expand

The plot can be entertaining on short notice and the different characters and special skills are always fun to play. Also the possibility with the cards has become interesting. However, the fixed paths and the tough opponents in the long run simply make it unpleasant and tedious. For in between "Book of Demons" is a great title, but for a longer session it just gets monotonous.

If you do get this game, I suggest you play it in doses to get the most out of it, otherwise you'll quickly find yourself getting saturated with it, like I did. I will finish the game eventually, but for now, after playing it for almost two weeks straight (and being halfway done), I will say that its fun, but gets tedious after a point. Expand

Good idea with terrible execution. Leaves you constantly frustrated at how broken this on-rail mechanic is implemented. Constantly out-rangedGood idea with terrible execution. Leaves you constantly frustrated at how broken this on-rail mechanic is implemented. Constantly out-ranged and out-numbered, blocked, stunned and swarmed. Most ANNOYING enemies you can find in a game. Chasing archers gets you ambushed by more stupid ghosts/spiders. Useless spells, useless golem that does NOTHING. Terrible game. Expand
