The story follows the events of DEAD OR ALIVE 5, focusing on 2 separate main narratives; namely, the battle between “Ninja and DOATEC” versus “M.I.S.T. lead by Donovan”, and the events that occur during the 6th DEAD OR ALIVE Tournament. New side story episodes will also be added for returning characters. Following the tradition, fights in DEAD OR ALIVE 6 are based on a triangle system: strikes beat throws, throws beat holds, and holds beat strikes. Landing a well-timed attack of the type that beats your opponent’s attack, like landing a strike when an opponent tries to throw, will result in a Hi Counter attack and do more damage. Expand

The culmination of over two decades of refinement, resulting in fluid, accessible, and balanced combat mechanics. While the game’s lurid focus on flesh will divide opinion, it remains one of the most polished and fully-featured fighting games in recent years.

Dead or Alive 6 is a decent fighting game. Although the DLC pricing model is annoyingly expensive, the existing content is enough to make you ignore it and devote yourself to its high-quality gameplay. As soon as lobbies are added, it would be a very good thing for all the fighters out there.

It perhaps plays things a little safe, but mechanically Dead or Alive 6 is up there with the best fighting games currently available.

Dead or Alive 6 uses reliable mechanics while adding new twists to freshen up the gameplay. Combat is fluid, fun, and exciting, yet, overall, it's not without glaring flaws.

An easy to pick up fighting game whose creators know exactly what their audience wants. At the same time, it will hardly surprise long-time fans.

Dead or Alive 6, with its good character roster and some nice ideas, unfortunatly fails to bring what we expect from a 2019 versus fighting game: namely, it's technicaly outdated, the TAG battle is absent from the game and it has a disappointing story mode.

It looks better than its predecessor, but content-wise its rather stingy and the story needs work, dampening excitement for this title.

Even though DOA5 was good, with the direction their dlc was headed I was almost convinced by reviews about this game. It's game play is amazing, some of the best and most frustrating at times fighting I've played in a while. Graphics are up there as well. One thing I don't like at all, is they locked best girl Momiji and a few others behind pay walls. Smh. Story isn't so great, but if you've played DOA a while now, thats pretty much expected. Its all about the fighting, online, offline, time attack, arcade. If you were looking for a game to spank it to, this ones gonna cost you a fortunate, and you be better off visiting a free site. I mainly just wanted to up rank this a bit. Expand

I know what I am talking about, I use to run Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct websites back in the 90s. This game is being attacked by a certain group of SJWs that think the game is too revealing and exploitative of women. The head developer put his foot down in response to requested changed and I applaud his stance and conviction and have to give the game a perfect 10 because of his strength to not let them alter his game. KEEP IT UP! I bought this game at full price just to support that kind of development! It's your product and someone that is not even going to buy the game in question should have 0 say in how it is created.... And even without this going on the game is easily a 9.5/10 but dealing with this attack shoots the score above and beyond for staying true to the fans! I had to come here and leave this review because I heard SJWs were trying to tank the reviews.... sad and pathetic. Expand

Can't wait for Dead or Alive Extreme 4 with VR on PC for the obvious mods everyone should be using. Not sure why people even care about the expensive costumes, it's not even required to play and you get an initial roster of over twenty characters to play with. Only drawback is the unpredictable AI. Sometimes at max difficulty, the AI does nothing and will get destroyed by simply mashing a single button and at other times, low difficulty AI will counter most of your attacks and be on steroids. A bit too random if you ask me. Oh yeah, and the awful costume unlocking, but you can use Cheat Engine or mods to remedy that lol Expand

    DoA 6 in a nutshell:

While it retains its user friendly gameplay, the continuation of its nonsensical story and the characters' plastic looking faces with excessive sweat and lip gloss are not giving it any favors.

And while you may say "people don't play fighting games cuz of their story" Netherealm Studios might want to tell you something about that statement.

unbelievable cringey story plus censorship with the topping (or main dish?) of years long overpriced DLCs = DOA6. Really is "DOA". Where isunbelievable cringey story plus censorship with the topping (or main dish?) of years long overpriced DLCs = DOA6. Really is "DOA". Where is the paradise mode and swimsuits? (DLC?) And you all know DOA6LR is coming on PS5 which make those who bought their DLCs a joke. And even the fan favorite Momiji has been dropped (or DLC?). Oh, yeah, not to mention the 1st SP is already more expensive than the fuxking game. Expand
