    Disco Elysium is a unique blend of noir-detective fiction, traditional pen-and-paper RPGs, and a large helping of existentialist theory. Its twisting plot, cast of memorable characters, and sheer depth of choice combine to create an experience that begs to be savoured. It hits on every single one of the marks it sets out to achieve and left me yearning to spend more time in its world. Removing any of the minor gripes I had with the original by adding new quests and a full cast of well-voiced characters, The Final Cut elevates Disco Elysium from an already phenomenal RPG to a true must-play masterpiece.

It’s a re-issued version of an already-beloved game, that manages to eclipse the source material through clever and thoughtful additions that maximise one of the game’s most beautiful assets: its prose. But more than that, it’s the only CRPG that can truly claim to emulate the tabletop experience—not through adherence to statistics or rules or character sheets, but through the simple act of asking questions, and thoughtfully incorporating the answers.

The fictional world creates an often hilarious backdrop to comment on real world political ideologies, truly unique and interesting comments on classic takes. The writers managed to express some of the most complex concepts I've ever encountered in a video game. Never encountered writing/character development this good in a video game before. There are moments of true beauty, that send chills up your spine, punctuated by disgust, anger, and psychosis. If you love good writing and dialogue, this is the game for you.… Expand

The last rogue like game that I really enjoyed was Hades and Curse of the Dead Gods is definitely in the same league or maybe higher.

    STORY
    This game has no story so don't be stupid and look for one. This game is just fun so leave the story.

    GAMEPLAY
    The gameplay remains exactly what you know and love but the graphics and move sets have been updated for current consoles. This game has some similarities to Hades, they are comparable but they are still very different. This game is deeper, there's a parry button, stamina bar, and all of it worked so well and it's addicting as hell.
    The biggest grudge I have with this game is the bosses and weapons variety. There isn't really much weapons that really differentiate from 1 another but it is still really good to play. The bosses are pretty easy in Tier 1 but on Tier 2 it really starts to get hard. Some punishments you get (corruption) isn't exactly all bad and some just does wonders for the player but I think that was intentional. But that's pretty much the only thing I would call a negative this game has.

    Overall this game is one of the best rogue like games ever and I really recommend you buy this game like right now, don't even hesitate.    … Expand
