A furiously entertaining action RPG whose horrible monsters are a delight to slay, whether you're playing solo or co-op.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is much better with friends. There's loads of loot and fun to be had, but combat is quite sluggish.

With some friends, you can have a lot of fun exploring Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance without needing to roll any dice, but inconsistent combat and frustrating bosses make the experience more of an ordeal than it should be, not to mention unenjoyable by yourself.

In theory, D&D: Dark Alliance is a decent action rpg with hack&slay appeal. But server problems and bugs are annoying while the chracter development is rather puristic.

A cheeky take on Dungeons & Dragons lore isn't enough to carry the lacklustre combat, sluggish controls, and dodgy enemy hitboxes.

There are a few positives, but the failures are far too many and break the game at its fundamental core. Don’t play this.

Dark Alliance needs a lot of work to truly warrant a playthrough and can only be recommended in its current state to massive fans of the book series who just want to know what happens in between books 1 and 2. The game itself is a masterpiece to look at, but falls short in the gameplay department, making this a tough sell for anyone who wasn't already going to pick it up and play simply based on its source material.

It looks great, the voices and music are really well done and the player will be immediately immersed into the world of the Forgotten Realms. As a D&D nerd, I am blown away how the developers have brought the creatures and the setting to life. It feels like an interactive D&D-movie. The four characters are very well adapted from the novel and feel believable and alive. Using the PC version I did not encounter any severe gameplay-issues right now. Expand

I'm not a major D&D afficianado but I love the theme. I saw Dark Alliance on Game Pass and gave it a shot. I wish I'd have read the reviews first because y'all are right. Everything is laggy - even offline solo play. The story has some potential from the intro scenes, but that is not developed during gameplay. I gave up and uninstalled the game after a few hours of play. I'd rather go another round with Witcher 3 or Diablo 3 again than keep on playing this. Expand

This game is something, not good... but something.

Its quite buggy and horribly optimized. The faster u move your mouse the slower you turn. which is just stupid. Story is sub par. Combat is clunky and unresponsive. There is a huge gap between lvl 7 and lvl 15, which is a good few hours of using the same old skills. Levels are the same. Walk trough a corridor enter a somewhat roundish area to fight enemy. Rinse and repeat.

Not to mention the broken hitboxes, traps that damage you even though they are not on and the horrible AI, 6/10 times the AI just stand there. Without even attacking. If you play on the difficulty that is recommended for you, you 2/3 hit every enemy. Play on 1 difficulty higher and every enemy becomes a bullet sponge like a mini boss..

Levels do look great though and really captures the D&D vibes.

Not worth the 40 euros, it is free on xbox gamepass for pc and xbox.
