  1. In terms of what the expansion offers, I would say it has 2 good new character types and a very good expanded single player experience. If you are a fan of the original Sacred, you should definitely spend some time with this.
  2. It does manage to offer a good balance of tweaks as well as new content. If you never managed to make it through Sacred, then it has to be said, Underworld probably won’t be enough to rekindle your interest, while if you’re a hardcore fan then it should go without saying that this is a worthwhile purchase.
  3. If you're looking to revive an old friend, Underworld will bring Sacred back from the dead to live another virtual lifetime.

Underworld doesn't fundamentally change Sacred, but it provides worthwhile value to an already solid product. [Jan 2005, p.82]
  5. I like the Sacred universe and RPG fans will too; problem is, there is plenty other RPGs out there that bring a bit more competition for your highly sought-after gaming dollar.
  6. When you get down to it, if you enjoyed Sacred, then you'll no doubt enjoy Underworld; it pretty much offers more of the same, but at a ramped-up level.

Sacred was a frustrating game to get used to, but surprisingly the expansion improves on the title incredibly. The game is somewhat more bearable to play now, but there are still too many flaws to consider this series a worthwhile purchase for hack n' slash veterans. Hopefully Sacred 2 will satisfy our needs.

You get 2 new playable characters. A female demon and a dwarf. The dwarf is a heavy hitting fighter with good ranged options while the demon has multiple forms and can fly for a short duration (Can be used to cut corners and reach areas much faster than all other characters ,maybe a bit broken). Beware there are drawbacks. The dwarf cant ride horses and the demon gets less money for loot if I remember correctly. Storywise there is a new act with much new content. There are many new areas, quests, loot and enemies. The graphic and sound are equally beautiful as in the main game. They aged really well. So in short it is more of the same in good quality. Definitely worth the money if you liked the main game. Also it is really cheap by now and I got both the main game and this add on for less than 20 Euro. Expand

It's one of the few games I never finished.

Its graphics are simply beautiful considering its age and the controls are very good.
I guess the sounds were quite alright as well, but I usually don't use game music, therefore I can't rate that part of the game.

    What made me annoyed:
    - it's a straight rip-off of the Diablo 2 title.
    - Endless killing and endless respawning of enemies make it very frustrating, specially when you just want to run through a map section where you already cleared everything and everyone, spellcasters make you "freeze" and force you to spend long minutes to kill everybody again even if you just wanted to pass by them.
    - Bugs...

From my 38 years old perspective, a game that gives you the duty to repeatedly kill over and over again is simply disenchanting.
