The most clever innovation isn't the puzzles or even the characters, as well-done as they are. The most clever bit is the framing of the game as a film.
-
Even if you are just slightly into adventure games, The Tomb of Sammun-Mak is sure to entertain, both creatively and comically for an extremely affordable price.

PC Zone UKStill funny. [Aug 2010, p.90]

While other Telltale series have suffered a bit of a letdown after a promising start, The Devil's Playhouse is shaping up to be a consistently entertaining season, any way you slice the cucumber.
-
Episode two is probably the best iteration of the Sam & Max series: with its circular structure, its explosive irony and its oiled mechanisms, it is very difficult to find a flaw. Maybe English language could be a problem for non-native language people, but a dictionary can solve any problem.
-
The Tomb of Sammun-Mak isn't as strong as season opener The Penal Zone, but still delivers solid puzzles and hilarious jokes. Furthermore, the many references to earlier episodes and the strong origin story are bound to put a smile on the faces of every fan of the original two seasons.
