6 Minutes of Sunset Overdrive On PC Max Settings

CD-ActionFeb 6, 2019With its great mechanics, frantic pace, absurd story and insane missions Sunset Overdrive is mad and uncompromising, and that’s exactly what we need in the age of increasingly serious open world games committed to imitating reality. [01/2019, p.70]
Jan 21, 2019Sunset Overdrive is one of the very few open-world games that sets itself apart from the competition with its unique and wacky setting, Parkour system and hectic gameplay experience, and all these are faithfully represented in the PC port. While solid, the port does lack some features that are expected out of a PC game in this day and age: this, coupled with the removal of co-op multiplayer, ends up damaging the experience. If you have no other mean of enjoying the game, however, Sunset Overdrive on PC is more than worthy of your time and money.

I've always been jealous of Xbox One because this is the only game they had that interested me, it looked fun, fast, and entertaining with their great writing. Now I get to enjoy that without having to pay for another console or an emulator to show up years later. The traversal system is the most fun I've ever used, Spiderman for PS4 was great but it lacked any skill what so ever, I could swing from any point and run up the tallest buildings in seconds. This game, however, is challenging with it forcing you to run walls, grind, and bounce at specific points to reach your objective. The guns are amazing too, other than the obvious clones used to give some guns an extra ammo pool, they all play differently giving you new styles and amazing kills. Quests are mainly fetch-quests but do not feel repetitive as a mountain of dialogue follows you with them filled with witty remarks and pop culture references that will make you either laugh, smirk as you get the reference, or make you question what the hell the characters are talking about. All of this makes a great cult classic as it brings back the feel of jet set radio and crams it with the action and intensity of most third-person shooters.… Expand

Expand

It's unique in its way, and the map is pretty good, yeah the controls in the PC version are a little bit **** but you get used to them.
I don't give it a 9 because it gets a bit repetitive in some missions, and for the controls, but it is one of the most funny and unique games I've ever played in my life.
I truly recommend this game for all of you. :)… Expand

My target framerate for this game was 75 FPS, Sunset Overdrive consistently fell below my target framerate and I have played many other modern open world games that could reach that target framerate without any problem. I and my friend had other issues such as the camera getting stuck, and keybinds not saving. I feel like 7/10 is generous, specs are below.
I7-5820 @ 4.2Ghz
16GB DDR4 RAM
HDD @ 7200 RPM
The story felt like it was tacked on, definitely wasn't the main focus. Nothing was really interesting about it. Only one memorable character, the story lacks depth.
Graphics/Art Style: 9
This game is very stylish, animations are cool, textures look nice. Only complain is that a couple of character models looked a little out of place.
There is a lot to play around with in this game, every weapon is unique and has a different effect on each of the enemies. The traps allow you to be more strategic and make the defense missions really fun. The movement in this game is A+ no doubt.
DIsclusing the DLC the length of this game is average but there is a bunch of collectibles to get. Not to mention the character customizer is great and there are a bunch of weapons and abilities to get. Some missions are slow and boring and some are really fun.
7.2/10 or C

- The shooting feels off. You can't really aim weapons. Instead the game allows you to just spam click in the general direction of enemies and aiming auto-assist directs your shots.
