So to everyone that's complaining about how the game compares to a heavily modded version of the game, go back to playing that version and stop crying.    This is the best way to play it. (unless you have unlimited time to spend on modding)

I mean honestly, this is Skyrim - it could have been re-released exactly the same as it was and still deserve a high score. It's one of the gold standards of RPGs in gaming history, with a scope and breadth that is just breathtaking.
   
   The quality of the remaster is so-so. Not bad, not amazing. Some rework to lighting effects, 64 bit capability and so on, but there's still low res textures that reminds you it is essentially a game from 2011.
   
   But really, what is here is still absolutely wonderful. The kicker for me at these low scores from people moaning about it not being different enough from the original... that must mean you have the original. Meaning you got this game free probably. So what is your problem?
   
   For newcomers to the game, you have a brand new version with more contemporary graphics to enjoy, whereas old players have the same thing to enjoy for nothing. Seriously, shut up and stop moaning.
   
   The game is largely bug free (as bug free as Skyrim was anyway), but I have run into one crash in my playtime thus far, and the logo at the start of the game goes mad around the screen for a second, but that might just be my PC. There does seem to be an issue with the sound in terms of NPC speech, but I can't figure out what it is - they all just seem a bit subdued, but it's not very noticeable and certainly doesn't take much away from the game. Yes, no mods yet really, but they'll come, and they have an expanded architecture to build them on.
   
   Sometimes, things are just hated upon purely because it is popular. The score right now is 5.7 for this game. That is a ridiculous score and should be thoroughly ignored as the net result of a bunch of bed wetters who don't know what the hell they're complaining about.
   
   If you missed this in 2011, enjoy one of the finest RPGs ever made. I would also recommend taking a look at Oblivion and Morrowind - two others games in the series - which are just as excellent and, in different ways, even better.… Expand

   The best feature of this game is the new engine. Modding the game on a 64-bit engine gives you way more possibilities. To get it for free onThe best feature of this game is the new engine.    About the graphics: They have slightly increased the visuals, but let's be honest Skyrim is about modding. The vanilla textures are only interesting until a better mod is released.
   
   The reason why PS3 or Xbox user with all DLCs don’t get it for free is because PS4 and XBOX One is another platform. It might be frustrating but understandable.
   
   The biggest negative point is the denial of community mods. The achievement disabling and not communicating with the most important mod creator such as SKSE and USKP. And don't forget the Creation Club ;^).
   
   In conclusion it is nice for free and enables more possibilities for mods, but the way they released it was a failure.… Expand

Endless and all the same dungeons, full of draugur's (lack of creatures!), repetetive way beyond good taste. Side quests sucks, they are mostly fetch quests with no story whatsoever. Main quest is tedious, childish and boring. Hard to believe this game was done by the folks who made Morrowind.
   Can't complain about graphics tho. With couple of mods it looks pretty nice but it doesn't help enough, game is still hard to enjoy.… Expand

Of course its old good Skyrim but the key word here is REMASTERED/SPECIAL. Taking this into account we are here to jude if and how is it better than original. The truth is remaster can be described as... move along people, nothing iteresting to see here. What is new is DOF but I can get it for free using nexus mods, lightshafts..same situation. Color pallete is worse than in orignal IMO, less nordic like which suited skyrim perfectly and more bright and cartoon like which is not good. One person here descraibed it as totally overhauled. Are you kidding me? One free mod from nexus like skyrim flora overhaul is changing 10times more than this big overhaul from Bethesda. And again... Im not judgeing a game here, game alone is good, one of my favorite but this remaster is totally lame.… Expand
